I got The Ameriwood Home Mateo Fireplace with Mantel in white for my unheated sunroom which I am updating this spring. I love how easy this was to assemble by my self, the instruction manual was ver clear and direct with setting up instructions. One of the parts had holes that were misaligned, I called the manufacture and the friendly cautious representative, sent a replacement straight away with no issue or hassle and the replacement piece of the mantle came the following week which I really appreciate the prompt response. Once everything was sorted out and fully assembled, the fireplace is exactly what I wanted. I works well and the heating is sufficient for the sunroom. The heater works well and is not noisy at all, it heats up the space fast. Also, the flame settings are very beautiful and sets a lovely ambiance to the space. I am very satisfied with the purchase of this fireplace as it is simple and has a beautiful traditional appearance which is exactly what I wanted. I ordered this from Amazon Marketplace. Usually I have a great experience. But this product was not checked. Parts had been put together with glue, holes were not drilled completely. Model numbers were NOT clearly marked. It was missing parts. I did get the requested missing parts. On the rest, I drilled out the parts that someone tried to glue together along with the holes that weren't drilled correctly. I'm glad that as a 69 yo grandmother I'm still capable of using power tools. I gave 4 stars for getting me the parts. I will use Amazon MP again. Usually they're great. The fp works well, heats correctly, looks nice. But it took all day to straighten it out. ... show more

If I could give this less than 1 star I would. I loved the look of this fireplace but when I put it together some of the pieces had the drilled holes on the wrong side which would leave the unfinished wood visible. I contacted them for replacement pieces and they didn't have them could only offer me a return. Very disappointed. ... show more

This is a smaller fireplace but works great, provides plenty of heat when needed for our smaller living room. Assembly was not that difficult but does take a little time to finish. It is fairly quiet and nice to have the features on the remote control.

    • Just what I needed. Great quality for the price.

Across from my bed are two large closet doors separated by a blank wall where I have a 43" TV hanging. I wanted something to sit below it to provide space for a compact soundbar, and a bonus if it had one of those electric fireplaces. There are several options out there that fit the bill, but this one is special in that the "fireplace" sits high enough that I can actually see most of it while sitting in my bed (others are too low). By all counts, this is just about perfect for my use. I initially was planning to buy black, but the white was notably cheaper, so I took a chance, and I'm very glad I did. It may not look all that exciting in the pictures, but it's a nice, subtly-distressed look. In person, it doesn't look cheap or bland at all. The contrasting mantle is a great touch. The quality is also very nice for the price. I've purchased at least two other items from this brand in the past and I've been impressed with all of them, this one perhaps the most. It looks high quality, and feels reasonably high quality too (though its lighter weight gives away that it's built to a budget). Now, here's the caveat to this review: I haven't even tried the electric fireplace yet. I don't have any outlets nearby that aren't already serving multiple somewhat high-current devices, so adding an electric fireplace didn't seem like a good idea. One of these days I'll discretely run another circuit into the mix, but I haven't needed heat yet and the fireplace visual has admittedly been lower priority than I'd expected. Either way, I expect it to be a nice touch when I eventually do run it. If you've never seen an electric fireplace before, don't get your hopes too high--none of them look all that great.. but I think they're neat in their own right, and add a nice ambiance regardless. It recommends two people to build, but I managed to do it by myself with minimal fuss. The hardest part was ensuring some pieces stayed level while screwing in pieces, but with a little clever positioning of your arms and legs, it's doable. It'll take a bit of time (I'm thinking it took me about 35 minutes), but the end result is worth it and looks more impressive than the amount of work (and money) that you put into it. Ultimately, I highly recommend this. Other than being an inch or two wider to fit my space perfectly, I can't think of a single way I'd improve this. The only thing I'd say you should keep in mind is that it's not very deep (which is actually what I wanted). It'll fit a COMPACT soundbar, but that's about it. If you have a FireTV Cube in addition to a soundbar, for example, you'll have to either set it nearly on the floor, or find another place for it entirely (or hang the soundbar above your TV). Lovely fireplace overall- didn’t take too long to build. Was very excited to see it done but it was missing a few pieces. The seller’s help page seems to be out of service. A bit disappointing.
