Got this for my older American Standard toilet. Since the manufacturer said it could either be 5/16" OR 1/4" bolts, I measured before ordering. I have the 1/4" bolts with 2" tank to toilet seal. Everything looked good but kept leaking thru bolts. I discovered the problem was the supplied flat washers were too big in diameter, not allowing a even force. Put in old flat washers, made sure of alignment and everything is good! I suggest you measure your bolt size with caliper and your flapper diameter (2" or 3"). ... show more

    • Bottom toilet seal is correct but bolt seals (bowl to tank) are not!

Bottom toilet seal is correct but toilet to bowl seals are not like the original. Previous orders have the toilet to bowl bolt seals that encase the bolts to ensure a tight seal. This kit needs to be changed to with these updated bolt seals, not these punny rubber seals.

Bought it to fix the leaking of the more than 30 years old American Standard 4083. It is a good fit. The sponge gasket of this kit is the same with the one of 047188-0070.

The AS 4010 requires 1/4” screws - almost every other kit has 5/16” screws that will not fit the porcelain holes (which would be a disaster to enlarge). The rubber washers are not as thick and wide as other kits but the got the job done without leaks. Went to HD and got two stainless steel wingnuts - 1/4” - 20 threads per inch. Made securing much easier, strongly recommend. ... show more

Well I was not sure if this would fit my tank number 4094, but it seemed like it would. This is a true American Standard part. So before I ordered I called American Standard. I was put on hold for roughly 15 minutes while they looked up the part. The number they gave me was for a different kit, which they are comp'ing me. I had reservations about their advice since the operator was not to knowledgeable. Turns out this is the correct kit and not the one they are sending me. Probably will fit the 4000 series of tanks.
