As part of bathroom remodel, I was matching this with the pedestal sink and the colors are the same white. The first package arrived quick but bowl was shattered to pieces. Amazon replaced this fast with one in better condition. The added height was just what I needed after spinal surgery which basically added several inches to my height, besides it being difficult to sit too low anywhere- I had it installed, so cannot comment on that - one thing though, tried to use the "waxless" ring-which did not stop leaking so replaced that with regular waxed one from hardware store. Also replaced the dinky tank lever to match the other new hardware, and now it looks much more upscale. The top, however-has a "lip" which I did not notice, so my idea of a vanity tray is a bit more difficult to find the right size.The picture shows a seat- but that is NOT included. I already had this brand toilet and was very pleased with the flush. It never got clogged. I needed to replace a Crane toilet that was horrible. It clogged a few times, but the worst was that it was very difficult to clean. The inside bowl was uneven, ripply, and had 3 areas that were depressed lines that collected filth. It even chipped at about 10 years old. So I bought another American Standard Cadet. Very pleased. The first order came broken, but it was replaced. Excellent toilet. The is the second Cadet 3 I've owned and it replaces a Flushmate pressure assisted toilet that I really hated. These Cadet 3's use very little water, but still has a substantial amount of water in the bowl itself. Because of the oversized flapper, these things never clog and always give a quick, clean and very qiuet flush. And it was very easy to intall. All the working parts were already assembled in the tank and because of of smartly designed fasteners and such, there was very little need for tools. A+ ... show more

The flush is quiet. It is two-stage - hold the lever down briefly for a light flush, hold it down longer for a full flush.

    • Needs A Bit Of Tweaking
I bought this toilet at Home Depot, because the old one broke and I needed one right away. The flush is excellent, as advertised, but the water height in the bowl needs to be higher and have a larger circumference. Aside from the water height, when flushed, almost all of the water goes to pushing waste down the main opening. This means there is nearly no water going to the siphon jets, which create the "swirl" in the bowl to keep the bowl rinsed clean. Often, after a flush, there are parts of the bowl which are still completely dry. As a plumber and having seen the evolution of residential toilets over the years, I think this is a fine toilet, though it needs a bit of tweaking. American Standard has always been a "standard" for me and I recommend the brand to my customers. I wish though that they would come up with a diverter to fit between the tank and bowl, that would send more of the flush water to the siphon jet area. ... show more
