Engineered for powerful performance, its industry-leading 4" valve delivers a fast, forceful rush of water that clears the bowl in a single flush and helps virtually eliminate clogs, even with heavy daily use. This complete replacement kit includes the flush valve assembly, installation wrench, lock nut, and an extra flapper for future maintenance. First of all... I am very satisfied. Got all the parts, including wrench. Followed a link to this product from a video. The video was from You Tube "American Standard Champion 4 Flush Valve Upgrade/Replacement (Step-by-Step) " by averagejoevideo. This was my first ever toilet fix. It was in plain english, and called out common mistakes and issues at every step. I was concerned about paying a 3x premium from the other OEM option, but the video explained that this maroon one is an upgrade and does fix issues from the other green one has. I would rather spend the extra fourty-ish dollar for not needing to do this again in 5-10 years. I did order all the recommended extras " American Standard American Standard 7381163-200.0070A EZ INSTALL TANK TO BOWL KIT" for the same reason. I don't want to do it again as these consumable rubber parts disintegrate over time anyway. The install was easy and the fit was perfect, the included wrench did it's job perfectly. I did order new OEM kit for "tank to bowl" kit. There was no leakage at all, on the first try. I just followed the advice in the video. It was in plain english, and called out common mistakes and issues at every step. Tools apart from this kit I used: Gloves -- black rubber stains everything, toilets need to be cleaned in many nooks and crannies. Channel Lock pliers -- needed to disconnect hoses ... show more

The valve works well, but the installation kit was missing a 3 inch seal. The plumber had to go get it and charged for that piece.

    • Flapper was the problem
Bought the whole assembly to stop persistent water flow. An extra flapper was included. Due to the extent of work involved to replace everything, only replaced the flapper. Solved the problems with constant water flow. Kept the rest just in case this flapper goes bad as quickly as the original one supplied with new toilet. ... show more

This valve does not allow for a complete flush and remnants remain in bowl. Absolute garbage.
