Imagine my surprise when i realized i could get them on Amazon, they were comparably priced to local big box store AND they wete delivered to my front door! I bought 2, different colors. Replaced an old 3.5 fpg with this model, wouldn't flush completely right after it was installed. The tank is huge and the overflow pipe is less than 6" from the bottom; consequently, not enough water to completely flush. When I added two cups of water while flushing, drained perfectly. Called American Standard (expect to be on hold for awhile), she couldn't find the model number listed on Amazon and on the box; did some checks without solving the problem; now you cant' find this model for sale on Amazon. Conclude this toilet was defective in that the overflow pipe was too short (probably all of this model). Used to trust American Standard to do the right thing. Will buy other brands and hope for better results. A very bad Amazon experience. ... show more

    • Doesnt include tank to bowl bolts or seal
I was shocked that the tank bolts and seal weren't included to attach the two American Standard products, tank and matching bowl, together, so lost a star for the trip to the hardware store mid replacement. After adding the cost of this basic hardware and a toilet seat, the true cost is a bit higher than first appeared vs competition. I already purchased the new wax seal, flange bolts, and water supply line ahead of time, but not including the tank bolts/seal surprised me. ... show more

    • Well Engineered and Well Built
The toilet is far superior and more economical that the 1979 vintage 3.5 gallon toilet that it replaced. At full water level, it uses 1.6 gallons per flush as billed. However, by the adjusting water level in the tank, it can be made to use less water per flush. I believe that I have adjusted mine to use around 1.3-1.4 gallons per flush. At any rate, this toilet provides a quick, powerful and effective flush. Also, at 16" high, the toilet is 1" higher that the toilet it replaced.
