  • The best of the best AM4 cpu
If you are still rocking AM4, get this processor and be set for as long as that AM4 computer lives. They stopped making the x3d am4 CPUs, maybe they’ll stop making this one too but it was still rocking and rolling when I got it. Love it, and have it paired with a 9070xt, along with 64GB ram and 2x2TB nvme ssd on an msi meg unify board. This is a solid cpu, get it if you’re thinking about it ... show more

  • best purchases ever of amd flagship 16-core processor.
one of the best purchases ever of amd flagship 16-core processor. I had 3950x and even 9950x - totaly power hogs - no real room for OC. this One is special

  • Awesome underrated processor
Replaced my ryzen 5500 overclocked to the moon with this beast will be pairing this eventually with 4400 MHz memory down clocked to 3800 MHZ with tighter timings to complete the beast. Oh and i’m running RX 9070XT

  • Got it early. GREAT chip
I ordered this to replace a 3950x chip that had gotten fried by a short in a bad component. Yes, I payed a lot more than MSRP for it but I'm glad to find a copy I could purchase during this time when they are scarce. The 5950x is a beast of a chip but it's also a better design. I was able to get the same 64Gb of RAM running with the same settings except that I was able to back down the LLC for RAM setting and move from max setting to 3 on a scale of 5. Despite this less intense LLC the L1 cache ran about 60% faster; L2 was a little faster and rate of exchange with L3 and RAM was about twice that of what I found for the 3950x testing with MEMTEST86. This means it runs faster and cooler at the same time. I attribute this to the fact that they've unified the L1 Cache to 2 areas instead of 4. All of this while running the RAM seamlessly under +/- 18 hours of intense testing with no errors at 3600Mhz, instead of the default 2133Mhz. (AsRock Creator x570 Mother board) You can't get 4 sticks of this much RAM to run at this speed - well beyond base spec for the chip -- without research and tweaking. However, it runs like a top once you find the design. ... show more

  • Ryzen 9 5950X
I upgraded to the 5950x from a 3900x & i think its a pretty sweet upgrade imo ! it is a Beast But I Dont Think a NZXT Kraken X73 is Enough Cooler for it (360mm AIO) Even with all 3 Fans running at 100% fan speed so just be aware is all i am saying ...Great CPU But Its hard to tame it when its at 100% full bore ! Maybe i should Explain a tad first Hot To me is 70-75c I Dont Want to run any thing above that !But amd says its fine to what 80-85c..Im just not going to do it but you can if ya want ! ... show more

  • Beast of a CPU for the AM4 platform
The shipper was quick and the item arrived new in the box. With a 360mm AIO idle temps were in the mid-40s C and maybe in the 70s c under load. I don't do any gaming, and this CPU allows me to rip through my productivity tasks and video editing on Premiere. I know I'm late to the party with this, but with the new AM5 platform and dropping prices, I'll be able to hang onto my current setup for a couple of more years until they work the bugs out of AM5 and the motherboard prices get more realistic. ... show more

  • Workstation performance on AM4 platform
Running this stock, no PBO, just the default performance boosting. Boosts to 4.2 GHz. all cores during heavy usage, running at a safe 67 deg. C. Idles around 36 deg. C. Paired with Noctua NH-D15 air cooler, X570 motherboard w/ fully updated BIOS, and 64 GB. DDR4 3200 MHz. RAM. Running 24/7, no crashes, no issues - except that the USB disconnect issue may be occuring at times. Price was almost 2X retail. Very hard to find. It is what it is. I'm very happy with this having upgraded from 3700X. Multi-core performance is doubled and single-core performance is a bit snappier as well. ... show more
