  • Best BANG for the BUCK if you can't Afford or WAITING to Upgrade GPU !!!
Fast Shipping!!! Back-Order for Dec. 21st on DAY OF PURCHASE. Next morning, Amazon said it Arrives Dec. 17th (4 Days Earlier!!!) PLENTY "Time" for Christmas Build! Originally Purchased, HERE on Amazon; from 3rd Party Seller (Amazon Competitor) for $195 on Dec. 1st. BUT... Amazon gives their Customers 3-5 Business Days for Seller to "Complete Purchase". Dec. 5th Amazon Listed CPU for $156 on "Back-Order", which was PERFECT "Timing" for MY NEEDS. Cancelled Order, Purchased through Amazon DIRECT for $40 Cheaper not just DUE TO PRICING but it is "Good Business" to Support Amazon FIRST OVER their 3rd Party Sellers! ***THIS REVIEW is for the 5700"G" not the regular 5700 !!! AMD Ryzen 7 5700G: (APU "Advanced Processing UNIT") (Built-In GPU !!!) Motherboard: ONLY USE Chipset(s) 550 or 570 since "THIS" CPU is "Unlocked for "Over-Clocking". WARNING: Make SURE your 550 or 570 MOBO is "Compatible" for "APUs". (Built-IN GPUs) "PRO" Tip: When Purchasing a MOBO [MAKE SURE] it can handle 3200MHz to 3600MHz RAM Speeds. (See Below) RAM: [ALL] "AMD" AM4 CPUs and APUs Process STABLE with RAM Speeds BETWEEN 3200MHz to 3600MHZ. "PRO" TIP: UCLK (Memory Controller Clock) @ 1:1 Ration 3200: Set FCLK 1600MHz 3600: Set FCLK 1800MHz ***XTREMELY IMPORTANT*** WHILE IN BIOS "Dedicate" 50% of your System RAM: (IF "POSSIBLE") 16GB(*8GB) or 32GB(*16GB) as VRAM "Virtual Memory" to the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G's On-Board 512MB/2GB Cache. Windows 10/11 ONLY needs 3.5GB to run its OS Operating System. 50% RAM Remaing minus 3.5GB is PLENTY to run Back-Ground Tasks or Multiple Programs. Once you do THE ABOVE "PRO" Tip(s)... NOW the (Unlocked) AMD AM4 Ryzen 7 5700G is READY for STABLE/SAFE "Over-Clocking" or "Under-Volting". [ASUS] "Compatible" Motherboards PAIRED WITH [GSkill] "Compatible" RAM WILL Unlock the FULL Potential of AM4 AMD CPUs. Its OK to use RAM Speed LOWER/HIGHER than 3200MHz to 3600MHz... youre just risking a NON Stable 1:1 Ration when "Over-Clocking". This is my 4th... AM4 AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU for Family/Customers. I ACTUALLY used it on a TRUE 4K UHD ASUS TUF Gaming Monitor (VG28UQL1A) that I Purchased HERE on Amazon! I HIGHLY Recommend you ONLY do 1080p Monitor for BEST PERFORMANCE/Results with THIS SPECIFIC CPU. THIS APU is NOT Recommend for "4K Gaming". But is "IS POSSIBLE" to 4K on EXTREMELY LOW SETTINGS if you FINE TUNE NVIDIA App and you are EXTREMELY LIMITED to WHICH Games you CAN 4K Game ON. BUT POSSIBLE! ... show more

  • A rather decent bang for the buck!
Great processor, I personally like the am4 generation and wanted to build a cheaper pc for my first build. Runs smooth as amd does, nice and stable, good value. Honestly you cant go wrong with this chip.

  • Complete Trash at first
This CPU was a waste of money at the time when I first purchased it. I spent so much money upgrading from socket AM3+ to AM4 that I lost count of how much money I spent only to discover that every operating system that I have will not run with this CPU. Noting I currently have is compatible with it except maybe DOS which is pretty much completely useless today. It seems that it's only compatible with Mac-Row Soft windows HO-HO and Windows Ding-Dong. Or in other words, It was designed to just run a gaming operating system and that's about it. This will be the last AMD system that I will build due to all the headaches and problems that I went through to get it installed and running on a ASUS Prime X370A motherboard from 2017. I had to do some extensive research and purchase 2 addition CPU's (A6-9500 and Ryzen 5 3600) to make sure this old mother board actually worked (which surprisingly it did) and to get the BIOS updated to the lastest 2024 BIOS to support this Ryzen 7 5700 CPU which I finally achieved today. I currently have Fedora 33 Linux installed and working fine. Next I will have to download modified drivers for Windows 2000, XP 64 bit and Vista 64 Bit and install those too. I don't run any newer Microsoft Operating System because of how wide the tool chains are and how dangerous they are to have connected to the internet. I learnt the hard way to never trust Microsoft security updates again because they don't work. ... show more

  • Cooler Came Jacked Up, Processor is a Beast
Replaced an i5-8400 with this guy. Was good for the price, but I had to replace the cooler. On paper, this thing is supposed to handle things just fine (TDP for TDP). In reality...different story. I was monitoring system temps while performing basic tasks and they were always abnormally high (50C idle, 70C at 40% load). This was with the stock thermal paste. I ended up having to take my rig back apart and inspected the surfaces for both my CPU and the cooler. CPU was smooth as butter. Cooler? Not so much. Saw a few gouges and a couple small pieces of metal in the compound. Hoping that I could compensate with a good thermal paste and verifying good application, I saw absolutely no change in temperatures. Sadly, the cooler comes bundled with the processor so best I can hope for is the AMD RMA process, which nobody has time for. Conclusion? Just get your own cooler, even if you get this processor. Hopefully mine was just messed up at the factory, but it wasn't cutting the mustard on light tasks, which means it would have been hurting under heavy load. Thankfully, there is more than just the cooler in this package. The processor itself is, to put it lightly, in a different league than the 8400. Cold boot? 6 seconds. Shutting down? 2.5 seconds. Windows 10 installs faster than you can blink. It's more than sufficiently fast for my needs so far, especially coming from the experience I had with the 8400. Apparently there's controversy around the 5700 being a 5700g with the APU disabled. Coming in from being an Intel guy for so long, I really have no basis for comparison. I ended up with a bunch more cores, threads, fabrics, rebars, gidgets, and gadgets than I had before. For the price I paid, even with having to get another cooler, it's worth it. Would I have enjoyed a frustration-free experience for a few extra bucks? Heck yeah. That cooler was polished with a brillo pad and it almost makes me wonder if I was working with a refurb in disguise, but I digress. Still worth it. Now happy to be on team red. ... show more
