Another great AMD CPU and this one with 760M Integrated Graphics Unit.
I wanted to build a couch gaming PC for the living room. I chose to go AM5 since I already a 16GB DDR5 6000MTS kit that I got with a Motherboard combo kit for my 7800X3D upgrade on my gaming rig. Otherwise I probably would've went with an AM4 system to save on the RAM. Anyway, I wanted something that could play mostly simpler couch co-op and competitive games with the wife and grand kids. And decided on an APU to save money instead of a buying a dedicated GPU, at least to get started with. Maybe I'll add an Arc A580, RX 6600 or something later. For right now this APU runs everything I've thrown at it in 1080p or if it struggles I'll drop it to 720p and upscale it to 1080p with FSR. Simpler games like Boomerang Fu, Sonic All Star Racing, Lego Games, etc., run great even in split screen. I have also run the Resident Evil 3 remake, Mafia Definitive edition, It takes two, and get 45-60 FPS. Not awesome but they look good and are very playable. I put a Thermalright Assassin 120 RE on it. The stock cooler performs fine keeping the CPU in the upper 60c range. But the Assassin keeps it down in the upper 50s to low 60s. I live in SoCal where the temps can reach 100F+ so I wanted something to keep it cooler during the summer months. It's a great value for making a good performing budget gaming PC. I'll be fine with it if I never add a dedicated GPU, but that is easy for me to say when I have a good rig in another room that will play anything. Some things to note: It is almost as fast as a Ryzen 7600, it has half of the L3 cache. Not deal breaker and it only has PCI 4.0x8 lanes. So if you do plan to upgrade to a dedicated GPU. Just know not to waste money on a card that uses more than PCI 4.0x8 because you wont be utilizing the full potential of that card and wasting your money. This is not a graphical powerhouse. It's a quick CPU with decent integrated graphics. Keep your expectations reigned in and you will enjoy what this processor has to offer. It offers good price to performance. I definitely recommend it over the 8500G, and I don't think the 8700G is worth the extra cash. The 8600G is sweet spot.

Good
AMD is just really good. I ended up needing a different setup, so I went with a 7500F. Problem was ram price. With the 8600G I realistically would have wanted 32GB ram, and not wanting to spend an extra $300 (I only had 1 16GB module) I opted to go with the cheaper processor (ebay) and a used RTX 1660ti (also ebay) for about the same price as this processor.

Fantastic performance and way better than expected gaming
Used this CPU in a few builds. The users are surprised of the performance every time. Pro 1: Extremely high cost/value ratio even at its initial higher listing price. Now prices have came down (at the time of this review) makes it even better. Pro 1: Paired with 6000 DDR5 this CPU shows its performance. There is a noticeable difference in response and snappiness in the OS and applications over the 5600G and 3200 DDR4. Pro 2: The gaming is 100% enjoyable with moderate settings at 1080. Anyone getting to gaming on a budget should be satisfied with what this little sucker can do. Con: Bad IHS design with many gaps for TIM to get suck in and it has. Pro Tip: Like all new CPU’s on the market you’ll most likely have to flash the BIOS of the new motherboard you are buying. You’ll need a donor CPU to flash if the board you choose don’t have something like Gigabytes Q-Flash capabilities, so be prepared. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Very Strong APU
I bought this chip because it was NOT recommended by the big YTubers (you know who they are). It smokes any app, it plays 1080 games 85-110 fps. It runs memory at DDR5-7000 Responsiveness is incredible. This isn't a 200fps chip using only the IGPU. With a standalone GPU card, it is a beast, gaming is flawless. It is superb at everything. Loading and making adjustments to a 29,000 line Excel file is super fast. 5 month update. This APU is as fast as a Ryzen 7600 but with Superb Graphics. IF your intention is AAA 4K gaming then I would tell you to buy a dedicated GPU. This APU is an Overkill for literally everything tasks. High End AAA Gaming is a different story.. There is No Word, Excel, Browser or any other task that this APU chip can't handle, it's just that powerful. It's stupid fast. Do not concern yourself if this chip can play a video; I can play 4K videos on a 55" 4K TV ALL DAY with no issues. Also it works extremely good on Linux MINT. Zero Issues, None!

Good for light gaming with enough RAM
bought this instead of the Ryzen 5 7600 because I couldn’t get a discrete GPU yet. It was very easy to install. I used a third party cooler and it never gets above 55 degrees C. The PC doesn’t even get warm. I was able to play light games like Minecraft with shaders at high settings at 1080p 60fps. It actually runs Minecraft better than my old gaming laptop (8th gen i7 and GTX 1060 6GB). I was even able to get Marvel Rivals running with lowest settings and FSR upscaling at 1080p 50fps, although it looked a little blurry/shimmery. But if you’re just looking to jump into multiplayer PC gaming with some friends and can’t buy a GPU right now, this is an excellent option. I recommend at least 32GB RAM if you want to play games since the integrated GPU shares the system memory. Minecraft with shaders, 10 browser tabs, and discord were using about 28GB for me.
