  • I love AMD!
This is my first AMD video card I've ever purchased. I've always had Nvidia. But in 2008 I switched from Windows to Linux full time. I've always heard that AMD cards work better with Linux and so I thought since this came with starfield and the price was right for the performance that I would go ahead and try one. I have to say I absolutely love this card. AMD cards work with open source drivers on Linux. You basically just plug it in and it works. All of my steam games run butter smooth. FSR2 is just incredible. I'm 43 soon to be 44, and I'm guessing this will probably be my last video card I ever buy because I'm getting too old and impatient for video games. But I highly recommend this card it's great for the money. Especially if you're a Linux user. ... show more

  • Pair with AMD Processor for best results
Excellent performance, sleek look, decent price. For best results, pair it with an AMD processor. Can run BG3 on max settings at about 85-90fps @ 4K. That kind of performance is to be commended.

  • Works in Mac Pro 2019 Tower
I followed some instructions to downgrade the boot ROM to be a 6900XT. After applying the patch, my Mac Pro has been happily using this card for months! The AMD reference card is short enough to fit into the chassis. If memory is serving me today, the max length for the ‘19 Mac Pro is a bit over 12 inches. This card in under 12, so it’s perfect. You don’t get to see the integrated LED light show, which stinks. The Mac Pro driver for this AMD hardware is hopelessly out of date as well. Doing benchmarks with OpenGL, you’ll find this card barely outperforms a 5800XT. Booting into Windows, however, on the Mac Pro unleashes the true performance of the card. It benchmarks about 50% better than the 6800XT on Windows and absolutely TROUNCES the 5800XT. Apple does not support the 7xxx series of AMD cards at all, probably because they’d thoroughly embarrass the integrated graphics of their SoC design. I’d venture to say that if Apple fully supported these 6xxx cards, with their integrated AVC encoders, the shortcomings of the Mx family would be glaringly apparent too. If you’re looking for the “best” AMD graphics card supported natively for your Apple Mac Pro 2019 tower, this is it. Running Windows, this 6950XT is EXTREMELY fast. Running Metal on Mac, it’s fast too but Apple’s OpenGL implementation falls FLAT. ... show more

  • AMD Radeon 6950xt Founder’s Edition
Beautiful card, not too loud, so far doesn’t get above 80C. The quality was amazing, so far this was the best unboxing experience i’ve had with a graphics card. The card was not as big as i expected it to be, and ended up being the perfect size. There will be some sag though. Overall great card, definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Great bang for your buck
It doesn't get 5 stars, because while it is a visual improvement over the GTX1080ti it replaced, I have noticed some compatibility issues with some of my older games that I did not have with the 1080. Yes it looks better nearly all of the time, but those compatibility issues I've spent hours trying to fix, with only work arounds that don't always work being there. I guess this is something you deal with when you like older games. My system also locks up or errors out more frequently. Yes it is stunning, yes I will keep it, yes it is mostly an improvement, but the 1080ti was more stable. So this one is great, I don't play massively super duper graphics games, and if you don't either, maybe stick with the 1080ti. ... show more

  • Don't overpay
Glad I bought mine when it was $800

  • I was warned.
I was warned about high temps on the hotspot but I took the chance anyway because of the price and it was being reviewed a lot recently as a good option for price to performance compared to the 4070. I installed this in a system that I have been using with a 3090 for over a year with no issues. I just wanted to move to a smaller case and the 6950XT offers slightly better performance at 1080p and 1440p (allegedly). Immediately my system was stuck in a boot loop when I installed this gpu. I had to disconnect power and hard reset it. Then my hard drives weren’t showing up so I had to reset again multiple times. Then I performed a DDU once my system stopped crashing. I opened Heaven benchmark for 1080p and Hotspot temps immediately went to 111C and my screen would turn black and I would have to hard reset my pc. Core temps and memory temps never got above 70C. With the fans at 100% the Hotspot would take a few seconds longer to reach 111C and would still make the screen go black. I had to underclock the GPU core by -500MHz making it slower than a 3080 when it’s supposed to my just as fast as a 3090. That was the only way to keep the Hotspot below 100C on 1080p. Once I switched to 1440p the Hotspot would reach 109C when the core temps were only 55C. This card is no bueno. ... show more
