Very secure safe for my personal documents. It isn’t super heavy and was easy to tuck away and hide in my house. A thief could carry off the whole safe, but it does come with a bolt to secure it if you want. Basically you can bolt it in the floor or a shelf. It comes with a backup key in case you forget your passcode too. This is exactly like the safes in hotels and cruise ships but bigger. I like that it has a shelf inside. Safe didn't last very long. I lost the key and no way to get a replacement, I even tried a locksmith. The locksmith tried to open it with several different picks. He had to brake it open with a sledge hammer which destroyed it. Don't lose the key. There is plenty of space for most needs. The is a well built small safe that took me 5 minutes to unbox, install batteries and program. I did not even need to open the manual that came with safe. It came with good quality mounting bolts but I needed this safe to be portable when I travel so purchased a Master Lock Black Python Bike Lock with Key. I used this lock to tread through the back 2 mounting holes in the back of the safe so as to secure it to just about any fixed object like a kitchen sink drain pipe or cooper water lines. Right now I have it on top of a book case attached with lock to 2 drilled pilot holes in back off book case. ... show more

    • Decent, with pros and cons
Size: 0.7 Cubic Feet
Pros - solid feeling, not too big so can fit under bed or on a shelf, allows for bolting to floor or wall, easy to open (once you figure out the trick, see Cons below), interior easily will hold proudly 4” worth of 8.5”x11” paper lying flat plus several bulking items (think jewelry boxes, hand guns, other valuables). I saw the photos of it surviving someone’s fire, and it looks like it would last a fire awhile but because there are holes for mounting, you might want to get a fireproof pouch to put inside as well or fill the holes. Due to the holes, definitely not waterproof but it might be enough to fill holes with caulk? Cons- took awhile to figure out the code thing… the trick is to follow instructions and when it mentions press #, the trick is to press AND HOLD # (which wasn’t mentioned). After that it is easy. The safe probably could be broken into with medium effort, but for theives looking for a quick pick, they’d probably take a pass especially if it’s bolted in. Probably not fully fireproof, and definitely not water proof, but work around might be doable (see Pros above). ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Really like this safe. It’s the perfect size to store away in the closet and keep a handgun and a some other valuables. The battery seems to last a good amount of time and even if it dies there’s an emergency key to open it if it fails.

This is a fantastic safe. Took me 5 minutes to read the instructions and 5 more to get everything ready. I installed it in a little cabinet and looks fantastic. Feels very strong and has multiple ways to unlock it in case you forget your code or run out of batteries. The price is amazing as well. I bought the smaller version and it has plenty of room to add sheets, social security card, passports and other documents. Definitely worth it! ... show more

Does exactly what it's supposed to do - store important materials, away from prying eyes or securing them. Bought one a couple of years ago, very impressed with the built quality, the sleekness, the overall value for money, and the capacity. When I needed another one a few days ago, I knew exactly which safe to order. Setting up a pin to open the door was easy, especially with the simple to follow instructions in the booklet that comes in the packaging.
