This Kindle has been a huge hit in our house. I am beyond pleased with the Kindle Colorsoft for kids. At the end of last year I bought myself the newest kindle paperwhite signature and my daughter (then age 7.5) the older model of the kids paperwhite because I thought she would like it and the price was really great. Then the Colorsoft came out and I was waffling if I should have gotten that instead. But at that point, the reviews were making me nervous. When I saw that they came out with a colorsoft for kids that had the longer warranty, came with a case, AND was on sale--I knew I just had to try it. I'm so happy that I did. This is really a great device and honestly the color feature exceeded my expectations. I was ready for very muted colors, but honestly they are not that muted to me at all. It's like reading a color comic page in the paper--which brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. My daughter (now 8.5) is really into graphic novels. We have a lot of physical books and borrow from the library, but honestly space is starting to be an issue and they just weren't the same on the regular kindle paperwhite kids. When we turned this on yesterday--WOW--the graphic novels look amazing!! My daughter spent 30+ minutes reading without any prompting from me. It is also MUCH quicker than the other model kindle paperwhite kids that she has. Everything loaded so easily and I was able to set up my own account on the kindle in addition to her two amazon kids profiles (one for her tablet with different time limits and one for her kindle with unlimited time). The brightness is easy to adjust and it is really easy to read on. I haven't fully tested the battery life, but I expect it to be pretty great because my new paperwhite lasts a month with hours of daily reading. I'm recommending this to all of my friends for either them or their children--this is a great model!!

My son is 9 and absolutely loves this Kindle. He uses it constantly and takes it everywhere. He was flying through physical books (literally about 4 a week), and I just couldn’t keep up with buying new books all the time but I also didn’t want to do anything that would discourage him from reading. This has been the perfect solution. The screen is easy on the eyes and much more comfortable than a tablet, especially for long reading sessions. I also love that it’s lightweight, durable, and easy for kids to hold. Battery life is excellent too, it lasts for days, which makes it great for travel, school days, and road trips. One of my favorite parts as a parent is the parental controls and kid-friendly settings. Unlike tablets that connect kids to browsers, videos, and constant distractions, this keeps him focused on reading. I can control what he has access to, monitor usage, and feel confident he isn’t being exposed to things he shouldn’t be. I chose the version that came with the cover already included, and I’m so glad I did it’s protected and holds up really well. Overall, I highly recommend this Kindle for young readers. It encourages reading, keeps kids engaged without all the distractions, and saves a ton of money on books in the long run. If your child loves to read, this is 100% worth it.

We’ve used Kindles in my house to help make reading accessible to my 4 kiddos from the time each lf them has been learning to read. When the Colorsoft came out, I offered to upgrade my 12 year old’s Paperwhite to the Colorsoft as a reward for good grades and successfully completing the season of one of the activities he participates in. He absolutely loves it and has been regularly bringing it to me to show me how nice the color graphics are from his illustrated books, graphic novels and comic books. He has been reading even more than normal and that was definitely the goal! We also like Kindles to encourage (monitored) autonomy in choosing a variety of books to read to keep up with his voracious reading pace. We have used Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Kids + with it, but we haven’t tried connecting it to our library’s Libby sharing, so that is my goal at this point. We will probably buy another for my 10 year old when he is a bit more responsible with his things. Very satisfied.

This is an incredible e-reader. My last Kindle was from 10 years ago, so that really shows how long these Kindle e-readers last. However, it was starting to show its age. The screen is tiny compared to the newer models. And it was starting to get slow when downloading books, and the navigation was getting glitchy. I finally decided to upgrade when the color ones came out. These color soft Kindles are amazing, especially if you like seeing things in color. I actually gifted one to each of my three children because they love graphic novels, and this is the perfect way to read them and enjoy all the art. Just like the black and white version, the color is very gentle on the eyes. These color versions are brighter than the black and white; however, the back lighting is dimmable/ adjustable, so you can get it just right. I got two of these kids' versions for my 10 and 7-year-olds. They each picked their cover design. And I got the regular adult version for my 12-year-old. They love their Kindle e-readers very much! This Kindle is fast, and the controls are intuitive enough that even my 7-year-old can navigate with no problems. Also, it arrives ready to set up. It is easy to connect to your Amazon account; the setup takes just minutes. The entire family can share Kindle books via the library, and parents can determine which books the child can see and download within the library. Battery charge also lasts for days. When we go out, instead of playing mindless games or watching stupid videos on a tablet, they have endless books to read on their Kindles. Can't recommend these enough.

It good , bright colorful but when I brought it was very expensive, the colors are crisp and it good for your book magazine collection, I had a fire tablet just for kindle but that was not good , this is good especially if you have kids and want them away from apps and internet, there no other apps only kindle for reading and this little thing has great energy for battery

As a parent to two young children (ages 5 and 3), this Kindle Colorsoft Kids has been a total game changer. I never realized how much easier bedtime reading could be until now. No more fumbling with physical books in the dark, balancing a phone light, or flipping pages awkwardly — this device eliminates all of that. The screen is fantastic. The colors and images look like real paper, not an overly bright or saturated OLED phone display — exactly what it’s supposed to be: paper-like, comfortable, and engaging for kids. My children love it. The Kids+ subscription is another huge win. There are countless books, including popular titles like Paw Patrol, that download almost instantly. We get through so many more stories this way compared to the old-fashioned method. I also wanted something I could use myself, and this works perfectly for that. It’s essentially the same model as the regular Colorsoft, but with the bonus of a case, a great warranty, and the Kids+ subscription. Setup was seamless — the device is tied to your Amazon account right out of the box. Creating a kids profile and linking the subscription takes just a minute, and switching between kids and adult profiles is quick and secure with a PIN. I’m blown away by how well this works for both my kids and me. Zero issues with the screen, great selection of content, and a very thoughtful design overall. Highly recommend — this is an awesome product.

My husband bought this for me for my birthday! I love it! So far works great haven't had any problems. Love the subtle color and adjusting the warmth is amazing. My eyes don't hurt after reading for hours. I love that this is kids and I use it for my own. I just turn off the parental controls and works like a regular kindle :)
