My 6 yo daughter struggles with finding comfortable clothing due to her moderate sensory processing disorder. It is a STRUGGLE every year with finding her a winter coat. Last year I found one she was comfortable in but it was hideous, if I’m being completely honest. I decided to try this coat out before she went to a very cold event in DC (ICE for those familiar). It is so cute and the fit is great. It kept her warm during the cold show! She loved it right away and finds it very comfortable. She still doesn’t like wearing a hooded sweatshirt underneath but will wear a crew neck sweatshirt paired with a winter hat, so we found a way around that. She has worn this coat all winter, even playing in snow and sledding. She looks adorable in it and I will definitely be reordering (maybe in another color) when she grows out of this one. We purchased one of these jackets on the fly last year for a quick trip to the snow. We hauled it back out this winter (purchased too big last year) and it became our daughters favorite! It is not her heaviest jacket, and this covers morning in the mid to high 30’s nicely in Oregon. The hood comes out past the forehead just enough to keep rain at bay while not affecting her sight (she LOVES this). Secure pockets, great stretch and fit along with the thumb hole liner within the sleeve, making it more durable and adding extra warmth. We purchased another for next school year and anticipate continuing with this year after year if the quality doesn’t change. Great patterns! Oh, and it held up well on our snow day- lots of sledding in 3-4 feet with fresh powder falling. Would not use for a ski holiday and would pack it for when not in her run clothes! ... show more
