I was a little skeptical about buying a mattress online without at least laying down on it and trying it out. I cannot recollect ever buying anything online that I have been so nervous about. I can also not remember a purchase in which I have been so satisfied. I am a bigger guy and this mattress is just what I needed. I was sleeping on a 10 year old pillow top Mattress that was getting to the end of its lifecycle. I was sleeping but constantly waking up and turning from side to side trying to grab as much sleep as I could before I had to turn again. After a year of doing this nightly I was looking for a new mattress that would be comfortable and not be HOT. We tried a memory foam overlay and had to pull it off after a week my wife and I both waking up sweaty. I wanted a mattress with a breathable top layer without having to add anything to it to keep cool at night. This being a new mattress I had a few reservations about pulling the trigger on purchasing. Thought about it a couple of days and decided to go ahead and try it. The first night I went to bed and dozed off looking at my iPad the last thing I remember is putting it on the side table. The alarm woke me up after about 9 hours sleep I thought the house was on fire because I usually turn the alarm off before it goes off. Of the three nights that my wife and I have slept on this mattress we have gotten a full nights sleep. Very satisfied with this purchase. Ordered queen size for $399 on Nov 16 received on Nov 20. According to the delivery guys the weight of the box was just over 80 lbs. Well packed and packaging was still intact upon delivery. I could lift it myself using the handle grip holes on either side of the box but would be easier with 2 people. Got it out of the box, put it on the foundation, started unwrapping it and it started quickly unrolling the rest of way by itself. Gave it a few hours to finish inflating. No smell to it. Slept on it that night. Would say it’s medium firm. I’m a side sleeper, 6’3” and 195 lbs, wife is a back sleeper 5’5” 135. We both thought it was comfortable. Didn’t sleep too hot or cool. Read all the “complimentary” reviews and they were postive. First, so easy to set up. Yes the box is bulky...not a huge issue(queen) Slept so well...I have degenerated discs in lower back and this mattress was great. I will post in a month. No movement as reported. You can get out of bed and not move the whole bed. Perfect for new parents as one gets up in the middle of the night. Looking to replace three other mattresses with my daughters. My wife and I had been looking for two new beds. We put a lot into this process. Finally we chose the Rivet and we are completely satisfied with our decision. It’s the best mattress in every category of concern which was; comfort, quality, design, value and reputation for service/warranty. You’ll get no medal Amazon (though you should) but you truly deserve our business. Others had comparable mattresses but lacked in respect to our overall concerns. Amazon just makes it all easier and they’ll be there to make it right if we have a problem later in our ownership experience. That breaks the tie. Without writing a book hear I’ll just say we really tested Amazons commitment to customer service and we’re sincerely both 100% satisfied and sleeping much better now. Thanks again Amazon you earned our business. Also it isn’t easy to just read a one paragraph review and hit the buy button and I’m not saying you should, you might feel better though by thinking of it as a “Try” button. The box was heavy, but I managed to get upstairs, unpack and unroll on my own. Wouldn’t recommend doing that unless you are as impatient as me. Was a little worried that the bed height seemed low, but it filled out after an hour or so. The bed is great. My wife and I both experience deeper sleep. I’ve been having dreams like I haven’t had in years. The bed is nice that you are less disturbed by movement in the bed given the foam. It has a slight firm feel. I don't know where people have been sleeping if they think this mattress is hard. It is firm, meaning it does not sag under my nearly 200lbs. But it is also soft, luxurious & plush. I did a ton of research from several sources before deciding on the Rivet. I wanted to find the perfect intersection of price and comfort. Some people need to spend $1,000+ to feel like they’re buying a “real” mattress and they typically focus on name brands. Thanks to Cyber Monday and the rave reviews, we decided on the Rivet and so far so good! If you’ve read the other reviews, you already know it comes in a convienetly shaped box...that’s heavy. Luckily we had a dolly to get it to our apt but what we didn’t have was a car to pick it up from a store so this was perfect! We followed the directions and it expanded very quickly, maybe 30-40min. There was no smell whatsoever which is often the complaint when you order a vacuum-sealed mattress. We’ve slept on it for about a week and it’s the perfect balance between soft and firm. I prefer super soft but my wife prefers firm and we both love this mattress. We can’t attest to the longevity of it but so far we love it! ... show more

By far and away, this is the best bed I've ever slept on. I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and I like this bed better than any of the ones in those hotels. I haven't tried the other top bed-in-a-box mattresses, so there may be some out there that are even better than this one, but this one is about half the price of those competitors and seems to have the same 3 layer technology. ... show more
