Had my Dewalt 18V drill for what seems like a decade, and I needed a replacement. I thought what the heck, the price is right, so I bought one, and so far I'm happy with it. I'm a home tinkerer, not a professional who relies on his tools for hours per day, so I can't comment on long-term reliability and durability. I probably use it for 30 minutes per week. But at 75 years old, I've used a lot of electric drills so I do feel that I have some valid observations. Two batteries is absolutely necessary. The chuck seems good, two speeds also necessary, the torque limiting clutch also works well. I like that the LED work light comes on before the drill motor does to help locate the drill bit in the work area when working in the dark. Haven't tried the hammer drill function yet, so can't comment on that. FYI the smallest drill bit it will chuck up is 0.060" diameter (#53), but that is typical of 1/2" chucks. ... show more

I am women. ,(kinda old women) and probably have more tools than alot of men. I like them and know how to use them. When I moved to an apartment from a house and needed stuff done, my screwdrivers where still in storage so I bought a few cheap light work ones from Amazon but they didn't last long. When I saw this with the 2 20volt batteries, it was a must. I know alot of people think skills products are junk, and compared the a Dewalt 20 volt, you're right but I'm not in the construction business and for what I use it for, it kicks ass. Plus a f4action of the price. Really powerful and am not disappointed. Going to get the reciprocating saw next since the one I have is electrical. Batteries are long lasting and interchangeable. I was excited to try this brand but upon my first use drilling into something hard, it started sparking & smoking. I turned it off, let it sit and it didn't again then just died. Maybe it was just a defective unit but I returned and got a different brand.
