For something in the category of "Basics," this power strip is pretty awesome. I just wish they offered this power strip in different lengths. The AC outlets have little slidey things to cover the contacts (I believe the technical term is "covers." This will keep little fingers from sticking paper clips in there, and it also keeps "gunk" out, which will keep the contacts clean and fresh. And when it comes to electricity, a clean contact is a happy contact. Perhaps most surprising was this power strip comes with two USB-A charging ports rated at 2.4 Amps. What I don't know is is that 2.4 Amps divided between both ports, or is that 2.4 Amps per port? But what I do know is that charging my phone on this power strip's charger gives me "Fast Charge" status every time. And it's a pretty high quality assembly. 5-stars for a power strip? I usually only give 5-start for things that impress, and power strips usually fall into the "it works well" or "it feels like it's going to fall apart if I plug anything into it" categories. But this power strip has indeed impressed me.

This strip is basically the Swiss Army knife of electricity—six outlets plus two USB ports, all lined up like a charging buffet. The 1000 joules of surge protection make me feel like my gadgets are living in a fortress. I plugged in everything from a toaster to a tablet and still had room left over, which made me feel oddly powerful. The cord is long enough to reach those awkward corners, and the whole setup screams, “I am the captain now.” If you’ve ever fought over outlets, this strip ends the war and declares you the winner.

It is properly spaced and i can plug in everything. I use it for devices and it pulls a good amout of electricity. The surge protector works great and the output is awesome. I can plug all the usb devices directly in to the power strip.

I haven't had any test of the surge protection, so this review will focus on the powerstrip itself. It's a standard looking powerstrip with 6 outlets and 2 USB ports. So far, this unit has worked as expected and met all of my needs and expectations. With the below in mind, I'd definitely recommend this unit. Pros: *Each outlet has a small piece of plastic that can slide over the openings when not in use. I have two young children and this seems like one extra step that they'd have to go through to get at the outlet. Plus it makes for a clean look, and prevents dust from entering the outlets. *There are two USB ports. I find this extremely useful, as I tend to have the cords and be continually searching for the adapters. An added bonus is that they are located far enough from the first socket that they aren't likely to be impacted by a plug of any size. *There is a green light labelled "Protected" that illuminates when on. I personally like having that peace of mind. I also like having something that lights up when the powerstrip is on. *The unit itself is slim and can fit into tight spaces. I have mine in a slide in compartment underneath a sit/stand desk. In that spot it is vital for there to be some extra space to allow for larger plugs to fit as well. *The cord is thick and feels sturdy. The entire unit feels well made. *The ability to mount the power strip is there. The hardware is not included, however they do provide a template should you want to mount it, which is great. I just mounted a different one, and not having a template was a bummer and made the job much more difficult than it should have been. CONS: *There are no dedicated sockets for larger plugs. If you're using something with a larger plug, it's likely to take up two (or more) sockets. *The plug isn't flat. I knew this going in, and for my use it's not a deal breaker. The cord is really thick and not very malleable. It sticks out rather far from the wall. This wouldn't be a good powerstrip for behind a piece of furniture against a wall. *No hardware for mounting - again, I knew this going in and it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

This Amazon Basics surge protector power strip is exactly what I was looking for! First off, the price is incredibly affordable. It offers all the features I need without breaking the bank. Mounting it was a breeze, thanks to the keyhole slots on the back. I was able to easily secure it to my wall, keeping my desk area neat and organized. The 6-foot cord is the perfect length, giving me plenty of flexibility in where I place it. But the real stars of the show are the two built-in USB ports. They're incredibly convenient for charging my phone and tablet without needing separate power bricks, freeing up the outlets for other devices. It has six outlets to connect and charge different devices. If you need a reliable, affordable, and well-designed power strip with the added bonus of USB charging, I highly recommend this one from Amazon Basics. It does the job perfectly.

I have a couple of these power strips in my living space. They have been very reliable even with several outlets being used. No funny business. They simply just work. It’s nice that they have a halfway decent Joule rating for surge protection too. Makes you feel a bit better when plugging electronics in. I do wish they would ditch the USB A ports for an extra AC outlet or USB C outlets. But overall, they are a wonderful value.
