I liked that the jump rope is very lightweight, it seems sturdy, and the handles are padded which is a nice touch. However I dislike that once you adjust it to your preference, it’s permanent and not reversible. I wasn’t really aware of that before buying it so if I knew that, I maybe wouldn’t have got this one and would have looked at other options. But besides that, overall it’s a good purchase and good value for the money ... show more

It is adjustable on one end only. The end is obvious if you look at both ends. You have pry the top off the end. Not that easy. Then shove the rope out. Look at the pictures on the Amazon site to figure out the rest of it. After figuring out how long I needed it, I cut it a little long in case I needed more. It works great. I am 72 and haven't jumped rope in decades. It is much harder than I remember, but I am doing it. I just got it so I don't know how long it will last. Probably a long time for me as I can't jump more than a minute at a time. The jump rope is great, the jump roper is pathetic. ... show more

I wanted a jump rope that would do the job, but I wanted one that was cheap for an amateur. The Amazon Basics jump rope is surprisingly well-made. The "rope" is weighted just enough to make it go around at average speed. If you have used cotton or nylon ropes, you know that they can sometimes be too light and you have to swing them faster to make them go over your head. This jump rope doesn't have that problem. The handles are nice--maybe a little fat for smaller hands--but not problematic. I keep it stored in a loose coil. The rope hasn't bent or deformed--it doesn't seem to bother it however you store it. Good length. I am 5'6", and I have no problem using it. Someone taller, even close on 6' could probably use it just fine. Overall, good value. No complaints. ... show more

Held up to 1 year of regular use on concrete, then snapped while jumping in cold weather. Worth it if you're just getting started or are a sunny day jumper.

    • Don't cut the rope!

This seems to be a great rope. I'm a beginner and at 66 years old I don't last long ... yet ... but I'll get there. I'm 5'6 and the rope of course was too long. What I did was pop off the bottom caps and pull the rope through. They have a cool little "snap thingy" that secures the rope at length. I pulled them trough each rope evenly. marked it at the handle, and moved the "snap thingy" to where I marked it. I DIDN'T CUT THE ROPE! I merely tucked the rope back into the handle. I had to push it in with a screw driver which didn't seem to damage anything but it let me put the caps back on. If I need it longer, for what ever reason, since I didn't cut it I can move the "snap thingy" and free up the length. Don't overthink this. Just buy this inexpensive rope and get at it. ... show more
