The shelves are sturdy and the paint job is good. It is not German engineering but will do for a closet. Assembly is easy but there are 2 types of screws, use the long ones with smaller heads for the shelves, and the bigger ones to secure the top. I had one sticker missing to cover the screws. Also, the stickers are a darker gray than the paint. In the picture showing a women's size 9 sneakers, these benches are really not for shoes. ... show more

If you want this to be sturdy, make sure to apply wood glue. I originally put it together and it was wiggly on use (got it so guests could have somewhere to take shoes on an off, but fit my limited space), so took it apart and applied glue as I reassembled it. Assembly is very easy, it took me about 10 minutes by myself. It holds six pairs of shoes on the shelf, and then I keep my work bag on the top. It works fine for the intended purpose. Note that the design means there will be exposed screw holes, and their solution is to give you stickers to put over the holes that only vaguely match the color. It's very easy to put together, holes already predrilled/threaded. Comes with an allen wrench. You may need to hammer in the little wooden stubs to the holes they go into, but gently. My one complaint is I ordered the espresso version but received a black one.

    • Good compact shoes bench
It’s a little bit small than the picture shows, but still decent as compact bench for small entry way. The only downside is the deepth too small, and only place 2/3 of shoes, so be aware of shoe make your wall dirty
