  • Amazing flexibility and control at a great price Amazing flexibility and control at a great price

I've been part of the Alexa ecosystem since it was premiered, and current use it to provide voice home control over my entire house. However, there are situations where a wall switch just makes sense. This switch is extremely easy to program using only the Alexa app on your phone, and its 4 buttons allow you 8 discrete controls operating an unlimited number of devices or groups though a separate short and long press option on each button. The buttons are removable from the wall mount by simply pulling them out of the switch (they are held in place by magnets). This gives you a small, handheld remote you can use anywhere in your home with access to your network. In my case, I have 3 major shared and personal areas I need easy control of - my living room, office and master bedroom. So I set up one button for each of these, with a short press turning them all on and a long press turning them all off. (I could have set up just one click to toggle the llghts on and off - but this wouldn't have easily addressed situations where lights were already turned on individually by voice.). The result, three buttons let me control a total of 31 lights. This allowed me to use the forth button to run a good night (single press) that handles my end of day functions - turning off lights, engaging security, setting thermostat temp, turning on external lights and enabling motion sensor lights - as well as a good morning function to reverse these settings, turn on my master bath towel warmer and warm up the floor. And setting all of this up (using existing routines) took under 20 minutes. Setup is simple, just unbox, update and open the Alexa app on your phone, then pull the clear plastic tab that engages the battery - then follow the directions on your phone. Mine connected to my home network without any need to enter passwords, bluetooth selections, or download skills. About as close to true plug and play as you are likely to see in home automation. Wiring switches into your light switches can be a time consuming and frustrating affair, and a lot of existing remotes are not easy to program and liable to fail with supporting skills cause issues. This remote makes it simple to program and just stick on your wall with adhesive strips in a matter of minutes. If you can set up a routine on your Alexa app, you can program this remote switch. i see tons of potential uses for this remote and have already ordered 4 more. At this price point, it offers an outstanding functionality with a very low bar to entry in stepping up your home automation options. I also quickly found I could easily label each button using my label maker for ease of use and zero-training for users. One of the best deals in programmable switches I have seen for the Alexa ecosystem, I highly recommend this device. ... show more

  • Convenient and Functional Convenient and Functional
Size: Small
Work great for running scenes for smart lights and appliances without having to interact with Alexa. Love that it can also be a remote, which easily removes and connects via magnetic faceplate. Has 4 buttons that can be programmed easily with Alexa app. Look great on the wall as a switch. Can sometimes be quirky and you have to push the button a couple times before it works, but no more quirky than using Alexa voice control. ... show more

  • When you want Alexa's help without having to talk
Size: Small
A Game Changer for Smart Home Control I had been long-awaiting the release of this item, and now that it's here, I can confidently say it's a major game changer in my house. Sometimes you just don't want to have to talk to Alexa—you just need a silent, instant way to trigger commands. Enter this switch, the perfect solution for seamless, quiet smart home automation. Intuitive Programming and Blazing Fast Setup The core feature of this device is its incredible versatility. It boasts four physical buttons, and each can be programmed for two distinct actions: one for a short press and one for a long press. That gives you an impressive total of eight programmable routines at your fingertips. The best part? Setup was an absolute breeze. From cutting the seal on the box to running my first programmed routine, the whole process took maybe 15 minutes. It was truly a near-automatic setup experience. It works excellently and has no trouble keeping up with rapid button presses. Effortless Routine Customization If you're already familiar with setting up Alexa routines, this will feel immediately intuitive. And if you're struggling to figure out how to program a complicated sequence, there's an easy workaround: just program a routine that uses the "Say to Alexa" function and simply type in what you would say to Alexa to get her to do what you want. This feature makes it exceptionally user-friendly for complex commands. Flexible and Thoughtful Mounting The mounting options are well-designed for real-world use: The backing plate is smart—it appears to fit most US outlet box screw patterns for a truly secure mount, but also comes with an option for double-stick tape for a non-permanent solution. The remote itself is magnetized to the wall plate, creating a solid "docking" cradle. While secure, be aware that a strong, sideways brush might knock it off. The versatility means you can mount it on the wall, stick it to a metal surface, or just leave it out on a counter as a portable controller. Power Supply and Connectivity This is powered by a button cell style battery, and, with my experience with the tech used to send the signals, it should last for a long long time with no fuss. It also has a light to confirm that it sent the command. You need no Hub device for this switch, many of the Echo speakers in your home can already do it. The Amazon store is probably telling you on this very page, what devices you have that are compatible. I'm super excited to continue putting this thing to use. If you are looking to add reliable, silent, and instantaneous control to your smart home, this switch is a highly recommended must-have! ... show more

  • Great cheap way to add a physical button to trigger routines without re-wiring
Size: Small
I've been using Amazon's Echo since the very first one came out and listened to my friends tease me that it was only really good for playing music. It's come a long ways since then. This small smart switch is a great way to simplify your life with automations, especially if you're trying to avoid always speaking to your Echo or maybe for a spouse or guest who isn't as thrilled about smart home technology as you are. Pros: 1. Quick and easy to set-up. Let your Amazon Alexa app discover the device and you're ready to go. 2. You can do multiple actions at once, all with the click of a button so it's great with routines you create in either the Alexa app or by even speaking to your echo and asking for help with a new routine (Alexa+ feature). 3. I love that they included a mount but it's also just as good sitting on your table. I keep mine next to the TV and use it for different environments in the living room. If I'm eating and need light I hit a button to turn on the light in the room and turn the fan off so the fold doesn't get cold. It also turns on the TV. Cons: 1. As far as I can see it only works with Amazon's ecosystem. I didn't see any obvious way to connect it to HomeAssistant or my Homey Pro. This is unfortunate. 2. This does require you to use an Echo device as a hub. That's not a big deal for most of us since the majority of people seem to have one but may be a pretty big turn-off if you don't. ... show more

  • Lights are on AND I'm home! Lights are on AND I'm home!
Size: Small
AMAZING!! I love having this. I live in an older home that doesn't have overhead lights. I have outfitted each room with lamps, and then I outfitted each with smart bulbs so that Alexa could control them. The only missing piece was always having to talk, or use the app, which is cumbersome to get to, and sometimes she doesn't understand or by the time she turns it on I'm already done in that room and ready to turn it off again. I was looking at the Echo screens but the installation seems difficult and they plaster them with ads, so Im out. Enter this device: its so genius I have no idea how I lived without it. Literally press and stick the small little remote on the wall, and connect it to the Alexa app. I can then customize what each button does, and each button also has a "long press" action you can customize. I have 4 main rooms, so I easily set it to turn on the lights in each room on press, and turn them off in that room on long press. I stuck a label from my Dymo labelmaker onto each button to help remember which room is which. I want to get more! If I had one in each room it would be like having a light switch in each room, and then have one master control in the living room. I'm a madman!! But yes, this really filled a need for me and I cant imagine living without it. I dont use it, but its also nice that the remote magnitizes into the holder so you could potentially take it out and walk around with it, or leave it next to you as you move through each room. It works perfectly for me, router in the basement, switch is upstairs and it connects flawlessly. Never had a single issue. This also wasn't very expensive when I bought it on sale. I'm going to be mad man again... Could they add even more commands to the buttons? We have a single press, and a long press for each.. it doesnt seem like it would be too hard to detect a double-click! Please make it happen, Amazon! Until then I'm fully satisfied and with only that one wish for the product. ... show more

  • Great alternative to Lutron Pico
Size: Small
This product is GREAT. It doesn’t only have 4 keys, it also takes single press and double press, meaning you can have up to 8 functions that are fully customizable. In my case, I’m replacing a Lutron Pico for the light and the shade’s remote control. Setting it up was very easy from the Alexa app.

  • I like this remote.
Size: Small
I’ve been using two of these for a few months now, and I have to say I really like them. There are many times when I don’t want to talk to Alexa for every single routine, and I often keep the microphone muted. For example, I’m a quiet riser in the morning—it might sound silly to some, but I much prefer pressing a button to turn the lights on rather than saying it and get my dogs excited before I'm dressed. I’m not completely convinced about the build quality yet or whether they’ll keep working long-term, but if you can get them for around $15, they’re a good buy compared to other products that often require some sort of extra hub. This one connects via Bluetooth without any issues, and assigning the buttons is easy. Out of the probably 1,000 times I’ve used these remotes, there have only been a few instances where, for some reason, nothing worked. I can’t explain why, but after a while everything started working again. ... show more

  • Very nice but sensitive
Size: Small
Easy to set up. Versatile since each button has a long press and a short press trigger. The buttons are extremely sensitive and easily triggered, though. Accidental triggers happen often. There’s no margin around the buttons which I think contributes to the accidental triggers. Other than that, this is a nice device. I use one for triggering ambient sounds and as a volume control on my bedroom echo show. ... show more
