As others report, these are substandard products. Both of mine have discolored and become ineffective after use at 350 for making English muffins. The last batch stuck badly, and the silicone appears to be permanently transferred to the high-end half-sheet baking pans. See attached photos. These mats worked only briefly before deteriorating and ruining a baking project. ... show more

Awful. Awful. Awful. First time used. At 350 they smoked me out of the kitchen and ruined a batch of cookies These things BURN. and even at 350. There is a quality control problem and my advice is DONT BUY

These baking mats are absolutely fantastic. The quality is superb, and SUCH a good price. I use them for just about everything I put in the oven. From oven pizzas, cookies, you name it! I also love that besides food sliding easily off the non stick surface, that they help protect all my baking sheets and such. It’s also super handy to just throw them in the top shelf of the dishwasher or even just wipe clean. Also, an easy tip for storing these, you can cut off about 1/3 of empty paper towel roll to use as a holder, and just roll up the mats and slip inside the roll/ring for easy storage of the mats in a drawer. I highly recommend these! Update; I’ve had these mats and we use them almost daily for almost a year now. They still look brand new and I have had no problems with staining, melting or the mats becoming worn. When using them, I cook most items at 375 degrees but have used them at up to 425 degrees several times with no issues so far. For clean up, I generally drape them over my cups in the top rack of the dishwasher and then when dry roll them up and slip a napkin ring or rings cut from and empty paper towel roll so they fit easily into a drawer. These things are fantastic and have paid for themselves many times over in the superior non stick surface, ease of clean up and the cost of parchment paper and or/aluminum foil I used prior to discovering these. ... show more

EDIT 12/13/18: I spoke with an Amazon customer service representative and was told that they would escalate this issue to have it addressed and possibly amend the product review. Given the fact that this could have caused a fire in my home, I am surprised they did not offer a refund on the product, but I think the most important thing is to see if they actually address the fire and safety issue at its root. EDIT 11/11/18: YIKES!!! As another reviewer stated, these are NOT good for use above 400 degrees F!!! I put the mat in the oven and a few minutes later noticed a strange smell ...when I opened the oven, the mat was smoking! No oils or anything applied to it, this was definitely the mat itself! I have changed my review to one star and will be asking for a refund from Amazon. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint, so I was looking for an eco-friendly alternative to aluminum foil to line my baking sheets. These mats were just the ticket! They fit perfectly on my 9x13 baking trays. In my opinion, these are even better than aluminum foil because I don't need to use any oil to make them non-stick! So I can cook even healthier. I didn’t think it would make a difference to use this mat or to use parchment paper. I was wrong. These make all the difference in the world. I’ve made the same recipe for years and when I tried these mats the cookies actually came out better! Crunchy on the outside - soft on the inside. Would definately recommend these. ... show more

    • BUYER BEWARE THEY RELEASE TOXIC FUMES AT HIGH TEMPS

After the first few uses in a 350 oven they seemed fine. They washed well, too, but then I noticed a strange white powdery film on them after they dried. I thought it might just be soap scum, so I rinsed them again, but the white residue reappeared. After soaking them and rewashing a few times finally the residue subsided. Then last night my son decided to make some chicken nuggets in a 425 oven. Suddenly I felt a lot of anxiety and couldn't breathe, it was like every bit of air was sucked out of the house, but no visual "smoke", just a strange chemical smell in the air. He threw the mat he used into water and we had to open windows and air the house out when it was 20 degrees outside! Then after doing some research on silicone mats trying to figure out what that was all about I learned that some cheaper manufacturers will add fillers that can smoke at high temperatures. All silicone is great, but the fillers made for a nasty mat. These are definitely the cheaper version. I am bummed because I bought a bunch as Christmas gifts and now I will have to tell those I gifted them to that they are junk. Buyers Beware. I would be concerned for bird owners, too. ... show more
