Honestly I wasn't expecting much. For the price I was figuring these would be single use brushes I could use here and there for different pieces. The bar wasn't high because I pay $10 and more for a single brush. Therefore I was a little surprised that these didn't suck. They aren't great, but they are holding up through a number of sessions and the bristles are holding shape. Thus far I have just been using them on an acrylic piece - will try on an oil painting I've been slowly working on. These are synthetic and feel like it. You can't really load the brush so they take a bit of work to get a good feel using them. I buy good (or even great) brushes but like to use cheaper brushes on some pieces. I've bought plenty of cheap brushes that perform as such. And I was expecting that here. If I got what I expected I might have given a 4 or 3 star review. The fact that these are actually usable and will hold up through a number of sessions bumps the rating up. Again, these won't compare to decent brushes, but they serve a purpose and for that I recommend them. These would even be a great pick for someone just starting out so they have a good variety of brush styles to experiment with. ... show more

The quality varies. Several of the brushes shed hairs on my canvas & I have to pick them out (if I catch them before the paint dries). Otherwise great variety of brushes. The fine detail brushes are great. Overall I am pleased & use them all the time. Good value for inexpensive brushes.

Just upon opening the package, these look amazing for my teenager and her beginning art endeavors. The price was amazing for the value of these brushes. If we ever need to replace them, I will be ordering the same set again!

This is a superb collection of brushes. They are well made and so nice to use. They do not smash down when using. The price was so good, for the quality and quantity that you receive. I've been happy with each one I have used. Recommend this set.

The bristles fall out easily which is annoying for me as a ceramicist, but for a painter using canvas it would be way more unacceptable. The price is okay but I'd opt for other brushes based on how the construction is with these.
