I was very excited to find this melamine dinnerware set because I have a bowl set with large serving bowl from years ago with this exact blue hydrangea watercolor print and always wished there had been plates available. I bought two sets to add to my summer melamine collection. When they arrived, they were packed well and the first box was pristine but the second had one plate with either a defect or slight chip, not sure which. It may have happened in the manufacturing process but I think it will be usable, just noticeable. I was surprised because I always thought melamine was pretty indestructible, hence a great option for outside use. I love the two plate sizes and the bowls will be great for cereal, soup and salads. I ordered the tea swirl color. I am very pleased that the dishes were all in one piece and nothing was broken. I don't know if they break, but assuming everything can break, I will handle them like stoneware dishes. Very pleased with purchase!

These are really cute, seem pretty durable if dropped, worth the price. Definitely be careful with your cutlery or you'll scratch the design (if you say.. stir stuff in them with a fork) and probably ingest the materials. 1 small plate was broken when it arrived, but I need plates, so I'm not taking the time to send it back, and it honestly comes with enough that it was still worth the price with one broken item. Only one bowl has scratched and I felt it when it happened. I'd say that's my fault for mixing up some chicken salad in a serving, not mixing, bowl. I love these dishes. I got them at a good price and they went up in price recently. They are sturdy while stylish. You may not microwave them for very long but still a nice plate. I’m waiting for them to go back down in price to buy more.

I didn't even check about this, but it seems as if these dishes are not dishwasher safe! We don't use them that often, but would use more if the dishwasher thing wasn't an issue. Apart from that, they are very pretty, with nice sizes and shapes and a gorgeous blue design.
