  • Good quality
Size: 48 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
I bought 2 of these for the garage. They are good quality and sturdy. Also very easy to put together. Price did go up significantly on the second one I bought. Not sure why.

  • The shelves look good in my studio.
Size: 48 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
I like these shelves and have ordered 5 of them but the corners the wooden components are always slightly damaged. No big deal as I always paint them anyway and it doesn't effect the strength but a little more protection when shipping would help.

  • Using for 3D printers and it is great for it.
Size: 36 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
Right now I have two 3D printers, a bunch of 3D printer filament, and a big air filtration system all on this shelf and it is all very sturdy with it all which is exactly what I wanted. The customizable shelf placement was perfect for arranging all of the space for the 3D printers. I was able to just press down hard for most of the fitting of the shelf supports (where they recommend using a hammer), though I did have to use a hammer for a couple spots to get the pegs to slot all the way into place. I love how this is made of aluminum, which allows it to be very sturdy yet lightweight. ... show more

  • Sturdy and strong, however..
Size: 36 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
If your like me and have a 40 gallon breeder aquarium this stand isn't the right fit. I'm gonna have to make some modifications so the aquarium can fit on the top of it with some longer and wider boards. I like the shelves but if I would have known it wasn't gonna fit just enough I wouldn't have bought. ... show more

  • Very sturdy
Size: 36 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
These shelves are very sturdy and the perfect size. We have two of them that we use in our basement for food storage and I'll for sure be getting another one if we ever end up needing it.

  • The frame is a "5" but I'm giving it 4 stars because the MDF shelves are garbage
Size: 48 x 18 x 72 Style: Single Post
I purchased this to make a cat tower for my screened in patio. The metal frame is easily assembled with a rubber mallet and the frame is quite sturdy and looks much nicer than what you'd find at a big box store. I cut up some Ikea wooden bed slats that I had on hand and used them as the bottom shelf. Unlike the cheeze-ball MDF shelves that come with the unit, the bed slats are easily able to hold the heavy bins of tile I used to weigh the unit down and prevent those fat cat asses from toppling the whole thing over. The MDF shelves as I said are garbage - barely 3/8" thick and warp easily. To build the landings at each level I cut each shelf in half and alternated the half shelves so the cats could climb to the top. The remaining halves I stored with my plywood stash. After a few months, I noticed the shelves on the patio were getting really moldy - not surprising with Florida's humidity. But when I pulled out the halves that I'd put away - they too were covered in mold. Yuck! I just chucked the MDF that came with the shelves and cut new landing shelves from my scrap plywood. All in all the shelving frame is great but plan on replacing the original MDF shelves with something that can support some amount of weight and not turn into a petri dish. ... show more

  • Basic and Functional = 5 Stars
Size: 48 x 18 x 72 Style: Single Post
Ordered this shelving unit to get our outdoor gear off of the floor in our cozy spare bedroom. I didn't really care what it looked like or anything. Just wanted something about these dimensions that was functional. It arrived at our front porch and is a fairly heavy box, so I scooted it inside and then decided to open it up right there and transfer the parts separately to where I would be assembling the unit because I did not have a second person to help me lift the box. Assembly was quite easy for just one person. Unlike other folks, none of my pieces were defective or missing, so I did not have any issues there. I also saw from other that it is helpful to use a rubber mallet to lock the shelves in to place. I would definitely echo this recommendation, as the shelves may feel sturdy when put in by hand, but when you look closely, you can see that there is a gap and you have to hammer them down to really lock in. I did not have a rubber mallet, so I used a basic hammer wrapped in a towel several times and this was sufficient to lock in the pieces while cushioning the blow enough to not damage them. I set our unit up on carpet and it felt very sturdy and has done well holding our gear for several months now. Because it felt sturdy enough and I did not want to drill a hole in our wall, I opted not to install the anti-tipping accessory that was included. I move around a fair bit, so it will be interesting to see when I move next, how easy this shelving will be to deconstruct for moving purposes. I imagine it will be fairly easy and will just be able to give them a knock with a hammer to pop back out. ... show more

  • DO NOT REMOVE MIDDLE SHELF! THE TOP HALF FELL ON ME!
Size: 48 x 18 x 72 Style: Double Post
The way this shelving unit is designed, the vertical support bars are split into top and bottom halves. To hold top to the bottom, a shelf HAS to be placed where it connects top to bottom. If you have the whole set up, say, for a long time (I did) and you decide to move the middle shelf (I did) when you try to remove the middle shelf brackets, the top half will fall on you!!!! This is what happened to me. It did not occur to me that the shelf was serving as a support, since that's not what any other shelving unit I own have. Removing shelves on other shelving units does not affect the integrity of the whole structure. So I removed all of the items on the shelf, then the plywood shelf insert, and I began removing the shelf support brackets/bars. Upon removing one of the larger ones, the top half of the shelving unit (with photo boxes and 3 baskets of fabric) all fell on top of me with a huuuge crash. Why is an unmarked shelf a major part of the support?? The middle shelf has no different paint or stickers or other marker to tell you to not remove it! And why didn't the maker just provide brackets with the unit that would allow me to move shelves??? I quit for the day after that. This was the pits. Luckily, somehow, no metal or other object seriously injured me. About 20-25 lbs of stuff fell. ... show more
