I got this mattress pad/cover to protect a mattress topper I got. The topper is 4", and my mattress was originally a deep mattress. I say originally because it has worn down a lot, is why I decided to get a topper instead of buying a new mattress. In any event, this mattress pad is deep enough to wrap around the 4 inch topper, and the deep mattress...LOL, It is soft, easy to sleep on without that crunchy feel a lot have.
