  • pricy for what it is.... but it works great
This thing is perfect for fishing the flats in the sounds of the Outer Banks of NC! Don't overthink it, just buy it. A bit spendy, but it was worth it because it works.

  • Perfect shallow and flats water anchor
Much easier than traditional anchor. As long as there is a soft bottom, ie no rock, product performs as advertised. Hasn't failed me yet. Lightweight, and does float. Add your own tether to suit your needs and figure out how and where to carry on a kayak and your set for flats.

  • Great, buy 2
this thing is great. It is the perfect length to anchor in place in most of the creeks I fish, and it fits perfectly in my kayak (ascend 12t) when it's not actively in use. It is sturdy enough to hold you in place when the wind is blowing or when in a light current. I suggest buying 2 so that you can have 1 forward of your boat, and rear of your boat to beep you from turning when you dont want to. Great product, would recommend. ... show more

  • Not sturdy enough for sand!!
We couldn't wait to use our Yak-Sticks. We didn't get to use them last year because the water level was low. After only the second use this year, one broke. The very next weekend the other stick broke. We put in at a sand bar with no wake.

  • A must have for kayak fisherman
It’s strong, I can use it to pole my kayak on flats nice and stealthy, I really like the simplicity in anchoring up in a jiff, I drop this in whichever scupper hole I want my kayak to face while I fish, I use it to park and get out, and use it when a fish is dragging me into structure to quickly lock into a spot. It holds strong, I can pound it thru oyster beds if need be. Cons: the foam handle slides once wet, the spiked end is just bare so an aluminum cap or something protective would of been nice to keep it from being chewed up. I purchased the 6’ version, it has so far worked great but an 8-9’ would be better. Either way, it sure beats an anchor and rope. ... show more

  • Great anchor pin
We use these with our big Jon boat to anchor close to shore. They are light weight and float if it gets away from you.

  • Good gadget
My two friends have this item so of course I had to buy one too! We kayak on a river feeding into the intracoastal waterway. We do half our trip and then stop to rest. Because the ocean tides affect the ICW and the river we use the kayak stick to anchor us while we take a break. Doesn’t take up any space as I strap it to the side of the kayak where my paddle goes when not in use. ... show more

  • Great purchase for kayak fishing
Works great keeps my kayak right where i want it and it even clips to my anchor trolley. (Clips not included). I hardly ever use my 5lb anchor any more. I stay in water about 2-4 ft most of the time. Its 6ft long so i can really drive it into the mud or sand or whatever. Plus it floats so you wont lose it if it comes untied. ... show more
