I moved into my new dorm for the fall semester, and the nearest wall outlet for my side of the dorm is on the other side of the room. That's why I needed to get an extension cord, and because I find Amazon Basics products to be well made and affordable, I decided to give this a try. In my experience, it works wonderfully! It's long enough to reach the wall outlet, and it's very tough and can bend and twist without much issue. I can definitely see this being great for outdoor use. Since it's white, you can get wall mounts so you can place this cable on the wall, and if you have a white wall, it'll blend almost perfectly. Connectivity is perfect. I haven't had an issue where I lost connection to my wall outlet. For the price, you'll likely not be able to find another great quality extension cord like this one!

Extension cords are one of those purchases that you tend to either overthink or not think about at all, and I have made the mistake in both directions. I have bought cheap unrated cords that ran warm under load and I have paid premium prices for cords with specs that were overkill for the application. The Amazon Basics 20 foot 3 prong extension cord lands in the sweet spot that most people actually need for general indoor use, and after putting it through real world applications around the house and in my home office setup I can confirm it performs exactly as it should. The cord is a 16 AWG construction rated for 13 amps and 125 volts, which covers the vast majority of household and office applications including computer equipment, lamps, fans, small appliances, phone and tablet chargers, and general purpose power extension tasks. The 20 foot length is genuinely useful because it gives you enough reach to cross a room without daisy chaining multiple shorter cords, which is both a tripping hazard and an electrical code concern. A single quality 20 foot cord routed along a wall is always the cleaner and safer solution. The physical construction is solid. The outer jacket has a good feel and flexibility without being so stiff that it fights you when you try to route it around furniture or through cable management channels.
