I moved into my new dorm for the fall semester, and the nearest wall outlet for my side of the dorm is on the other side of the room. That's why I needed to get an extension cord, and because I find Amazon Basics products to be well made and affordable, I decided to give this a try. In my experience, it works wonderfully! It's long enough to reach the wall outlet, and it's very tough and can bend and twist without much issue. I can definitely see this being great for outdoor use. Since it's white, you can get wall mounts so you can place this cable on the wall, and if you have a white wall, it'll blend almost perfectly. Connectivity is perfect. I haven't had an issue where I lost connection to my wall outlet. For the price, you'll likely not be able to find another great quality extension cord like this one!

This Amazon Basics 15 ft extension cord is exactly what you want if you just need a dependable indoor extension cord. Nothing fancy — just solid performance and good build quality. The 15-foot length is really useful for reaching outlets that are just a little too far away, and the cord feels sturdy without being overly stiff. The 3-prong outlet gives good peace of mind for grounded devices, and it handles normal household electronics with no issues. The black color is nice because it blends in easily along baseboards or behind furniture. It’s been great for things like lamps, small appliances, and office equipment. ✅ Pros Good length for most indoor needs Solid, durable cord construction Grounded 3-prong outlet for safety Flexible enough to route easily Good value for the price ⚠️ Cons Indoor use only (not weather resistant) Basic design (no extra outlets or USB, if that’s something you need) If you just need a straightforward, reliable indoor extension cord, this is a great option that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

I write a lot of Amazon reviews, but I never thought I’d have the urge to write about — an extension cord. I mean, seriously, it’s such a ubiquitous item, who ever really pays attention to extension cords? I mean, yes, when it comes to my computer setup or plugging in an electric car — sure. But I just needed an extension cord for my dog’s dryer. I checked out the local box stores and was really befuddled by how expensive simple extension cords are there these days.. I wasn’t looking for a built-in circuit breaker, multiple outlets, USB-C, or anything fancy. Just a simple grounded extension cord. Amazon Basics to the rescue again. My experience has been that they really do have great products. $9.59 for a 25-foot heavy-duty indoor extension cord is such a great value for the money. It is well made, durable, and I’ll even say it is attractive — if that is an attribute an extension cord can have — because you can readily see that it is a quality item. Technically, it is a 16-gauge, three-conductor grounded cord rated for 13 amps at 125 volts, with a maximum load of 1,625 watts. That makes it perfectly appropriate for ordinary indoor use with things like lamps, fans, TVs, vacuums, small appliances, chargers, and, in my case, a dog dryer, as long as the device stays within that rating. The cord should be fully extended when in use. No bells. No whistles. No unnecessary gadgetry. Just a really good extension cord. Who knew I had that much to say about one?

This is a very nice, heavy duty extension cord for use inside my house. It functions as it should and is not stiff or hard to manage, like others have mentioned in reviews. Definitely happy with this purchase.

My old extension cord for my vacuum stopped working so I bought this one to replace. It was cheap and will work fine. Not a lot to say about extension cords, but it seems like decent quality and the price was reasonable.

This is a good extension cord. Made well and it does the job with a constant draw of 15 AMPS for hours. You can depend on it.

Extension cords are one of those purchases that you tend to either overthink or not think about at all, and I have made the mistake in both directions. I have bought cheap unrated cords that ran warm under load and I have paid premium prices for cords with specs that were overkill for the application. The Amazon Basics 20 foot 3 prong extension cord lands in the sweet spot that most people actually need for general indoor use, and after putting it through real world applications around the house and in my home office setup I can confirm it performs exactly as it should. The cord is a 16 AWG construction rated for 13 amps and 125 volts, which covers the vast majority of household and office applications including computer equipment, lamps, fans, small appliances, phone and tablet chargers, and general purpose power extension tasks. The 20 foot length is genuinely useful because it gives you enough reach to cross a room without daisy chaining multiple shorter cords, which is both a tripping hazard and an electrical code concern. A single quality 20 foot cord routed along a wall is always the cleaner and safer solution. The physical construction is solid. The outer jacket has a good feel and flexibility without being so stiff that it fights you when you try to route it around furniture or through cable management channels. The 3 prong grounded plug seats firmly in standard outlets and does not work loose with normal use. The outlet end also accepts 3 prong plugs without any wobble and the connection stays positive even with heavier plugs like those found on laptop chargers and desktop power supplies. The overall build has none of the flimsy feel you sometimes get with bargain cords where the connectors feel like they might separate from the jacket with any stress. I have been running this cord through a fairly demanding cycle in terms of the applications I am using it for. In my home office it is powering a multi device setup during extended work sessions and the cord stays at ambient temperature throughout, which is exactly what you want to see from a properly rated extension cord. A cord that runs noticeably warm under normal load is telling you something is wrong with either the wire gauge, the insulation quality, or the circuit load and this Amazon Basics unit has given no indication of any of those issues. For the price this cord is an excellent value. It is UL listed, which means it has gone through third party safety testing, and the Amazon Basics line has consistently delivered reliable basics quality that is honest about what it is. You are not getting a commercial grade power distribution unit, you are getting a well made general purpose indoor extension cord that will handle the loads it is rated for safely and reliably for years of normal use. I keep several of these in different lengths around the house and every one of them has performed without issue.
