When I was a boy, my first office chair that I used for PC and laptop work growing up was this chair. This was back before 2010 so it likely wasn't under the Amazon Basics brand but it was the exact same chair design. I've used that chair my entire life really and only had to buy this chair as a replacement as the leather started peeling significantly on my old chair after over 20 years of use. Even though the leather was heavily peeled, my old chair was still extremely comfortable and I would've kept on using it had I not gotten annoyed with having to pick up leather bits and pieces everyday from the peeling. I bought this chair as a replacement and the comfort is still as I remembered. No lower back pain, no butt numbness, no arm numbness, truly such a masterpiece of a chair where it lets you focus on the task at hand instead of focusing on the chair. Before I rebought this chair, I've bought & tried the Secretlab Titan Evo Nanogen, Furmax executive office chair, Neo executive office chair, RS high back gaming chair w/ flip-up armrests, Bestfair high-back office chair, FDW executive office chair, Herman Miller Aeron, and OFIKA executive office chair in search of a potential "upgrade" - every single one of these other chairs was inferior to the Amazon Basics high back office chair in one way or the other. The only thing I will note is that the pneumatic gas cylinder of the Amazon Basics office chair seems to be different from my original chair - it goes higher and has a higher minimum seat height. If you would like to perfectly replicate the original lower seat depth you will have to buy the S6124 extra short office chair gas lift cylinder from ChairPartsOnline - my only nitpick about such a phenomenal chair. In my attached picture I have the Amazon Basics chair w/ S6124 gas cylinder on the right next to the Furmax high-back office chair which although inferior is what I consider to be the 2nd best chair if for some reason you cannot get the Amazon Basics high-back office chair. To sum it up - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CHAIR!!!

Had a previous version, forgot where purchased, Office Max or Staple or somewhere. Made in China but was three inches wider on the seat and had a good maximum lean-back distance, unlike this newer model with very minimal lean-back distance. The older one had three to four levers, but was confusing, versus this one lever chair. Older larger model: Style Number: OM06657 SKU Number: 24106245 This newer one is much more stiff, more like a manager's chair rather than an Executive chair model! PROS Good sturdy features, simple one lever, rather than many multiple levers. CONS Not enough lean-back freedom, very stiff and upright. I usually watch a TV screen on the wall in front, usually news, and would be nice to lean back without any effort. Regardless of some of the lacking features, will certainly keep the chair as my older chair is well worn-out, however was very comfortable for a relaxing leisure desk chair.

This chair is a quality purchase. It's beautiful, comfortable, it was easy to put together. It looks exactly as pictured, and I couldn't be happier. It gives me the support I need when pulling long hours creating art, or studying. I have enough room to sit comfortably in different positions. Im 5'5, and on the smaller size, but my 6ft husband who is larger finds the chair very comfortable as well. Completely recommend!

This review was based upon needing a chair for remote teaching. I've been teaching for almost 2 decades in a science lab and never really sat down. However, now that we are alternating face-to-face and remote learning - this chair is HEAVEN! I was looking for lumbar support and cushion. I highly recommend it for the price! I recently had surgery and need to sit more during my remote sessions than previously. I now stand about 4 hours still doing demos and instruction at the board standing, but I also about 5-6 off and on throughout the day. I found myself sitting on the edge of my chair and slouching forward until this chair. I am 5' 6" and I can sit with my rear to the back of the cushion and my feet touch the floor. At the highest level they are a few inches off the ground, but I don't use that setting. However, if you had a higher table you could. There is a nice cushion under my knees and lumbar support so I can sit straight up, but feel comfortable. As another reviewer suggested - I have the reclining feature tight so it does not lean back, but you can easily change that with the turn of a knob under the seat. It provides support up to my shoulders - I do not need head support for the work I am doing. It alleviates the tension in lower back and the shoulder slouching. I'll have to update the review in 6 months to see how the cushion withstands the increased sitting time the rest of the school year as well as any wear and tear of the material. For now, I'd say this is an excellent purchase! As other viewers have mentioned, the assembly took about 20 minutes. They delivered to my school and they provided the Allen wrench. Although, if you had the electric driver, I'm sure it would have been faster. I did it old school and there were no issues. The instructions are straightforward - except for the arms. I should preface, they are marked 'L' and 'R'. I had even read another reviewer on here switched them. So, I was intentional about looking to make sure I did not do the same. I DID! After I put one of the arms on - I then noticed the letter on the arm...it's in the same color as the paint - it's an indention of the letter and until I tilted in the light (AFTER) I had attached it - I noticed it. The only tip I would give would be to look for the clearly marked stamps on the arm. This will save you time. Also, due to surgery, I had a hard time attaching the arms after it was on the pedestal (so I took it back off and assembled on the floor for better leverage). All of that being said, I assembled at the end of a long Friday - if you read the instructions carefully and look for the lettering on the arms - installation is easy! I definitely recommend and do not regret the purchase one bit. (I did notice the seat wobble at first, but that was because I need to take it off and put it back on the center pedestal - I had not installed all the way into the hole). Great wheels and rolls smoothly! LOVE the chair!!!
