  • Don’t overestimate your dog
Color: Black Number Of Panels: 8 Size: 36"
First off this cage is super easy and quick to assemble. There’s definitely a left and right to each panel. If you have them lined up correctly, you don’t need to lift the other side. The latch can lock open or you can have the post out and it will lock in place when you close the door. I was under the impression this was going to be a small flimsy little corral. Boy was I wrong. It’s heavy and sturdy and much taller than I was expecting. I have a 7 pound yorkie that I thought would be able to jump over the 2 foot gate so I got the 3 foot. I thought it was definitely going to be a lighter weight material and the extra foot wouldn’t make a difference. It would just be a little taller and I would still be able to whip it out and hide it away when not in use. Ummmmmm. Nope. It’s large and sturdy and heavy. You are able to use as many or few panels as you like. I feel like if I had gotten the 2 foot height the smaller areas would have worked nicely for my dog, but I feel like when you take out panels and it’s this tall it kind of looks silly. I feel like if you have a Yorkie, the 2 foot height is probably sufficient. This 3 foot height would work well for larger dogs. The only thing I would consider removing a star for is the fact that the hinges are soldered in the middle of the pole. You aren’t able to just collapse it assembled you have to pull out the stakes. It will only fold to a 90° angle. I’m sure this makes it sturdier and harder for a dog to tip over. Which is why I did not remove a star, but it would’ve been nice if I could have just folded it flat to push it out of the way, but you really have to disassemble the whole thing. I currently crate my dog when I leave the house and I was hoping to just be able to set up this pen and then take it down when I get home. With the size of this it seems like that’s gonna be a lot of work. I should’ve gotten the smaller size. I definitely overestimated my dog and it makes a big difference if you plan to put it away when you’re done using it. ... show more

  • Nice fence
Color: Black Number Of Panels: 8 Size: 24"
This dog fence is nothing short of legendary. We took it camping and it instantly became the Great Wall of Camperville. Perfect height to stop our dogs from slipping under the camper, while our tall greyhound stared at it like it was a magic force field. He never tried jumping it. We got creative and used one panel as our main doorway because the taller panel set we also have with the tiny door might as well have required a skinny size permit. The shorter panel worked perfectly, just above knee height, letting humans pass without performing a full gymnastics routine. Meanwhile, the dogs treated it like the ultimate “do not cross” line. Assembly is a bit of a time commitment and would be much nicer if they designed this with hinges and an accordion style so that they were all attached for easy set up and take down. This would be much nicer if we had a seasonal campground rather than weekend camping as it adds a lot of extra work. Stakes are optional, and the fence holds firm like a loyal guard dog made of metal. It’s sturdy, solid, and slightly smug about how effective it is. It also looks nice. Small and medium dogs? Safe. Large dogs who are too lazy to jump? Safe. Weekend campers? Prepare for a little extra cardio, because folding and unfolding these panels is basically functional fitness disguised as dog care. The value is good, the construction is rock-solid, and the dogs are contained without anyone feeling like a zookeeper. Five stars. This fence is the hero we didn’t know we needed, the ultimate barrier between chaotic dogs and freedom, and a constant source of entertainment watching our greyhound try—and fail—to conquer it. ... show more

  • Versatile dog pen, many configurations, and a good value
Color: Black Number Of Panels: 8 Size: 36"
We love this product despite some drawbacks. It's a versatile, convenient dog pen, capable of many configurations—more than we imagined when we ordered it. The pen consists of eight panels, which are joined together by a vertical bar that also acts like a hinge. When all eight sections are fastened together, it forms a pen. You can arrange the pen as a square, a rectangle, or an octagon to suit the available space. That's pretty flexible, right there, but it gets better. Remove one of the vertical bars and it separates the sections. You can use six sections together to form a smaller pen, you can use two or three sections to form a barrier to block access to the couch, or a single section to block off, say, a doorway. There are a few things that you can't do. First, it doesn't have any mechanism for attaching the sections to a wall or a doorway, the way you can a baby gate. So the gate sections must be linked together to be freestanding, or be held up by some other means. You can also form a much larger pen if you combine two sets. Each set includes some extra bars for fastening panels together. There are a few significant drawbacks. First they're constructed of painted steel and I think the parts would rust if they were used outside for an extended period of time. The paint seems pretty high quality, so I think it would stand up for quite a while outside if we were kept out of the rain. Second, the way the parts hinge together they don't open or close completely. That is you don't have a full 360° of motion between two panels. They hinge enough to form whatever size pen you like, but if you're using them as barriers in the house, (e.g. four panels together to block off a wide doorway), it can be a little frustrating trying to swing them open or close to walk past the barrier, as it will only swing so far. One of the panel includes a hinged doorway, so presumably you could set up your pen and use the door to walk in and out of your pen. While the panels are pretty well-made and pretty sturdy, they're not beautiful or elegant. I would call them functional. That said, they certainly do the job and they're very versatile, especially for the price. I recommend this product despite the drawbacks. ... show more
