This is good quality, just the right weight. I love it but it would not install. I tried and tried for the longest time. I got so frustrated. I called Amazon and explained my problem and they said I must have received a defective one. They are sending me another. I hope this one works. Update: I am so sorry Amazon. I just found out that I installed the bracket wrong. THE FLAT PART NEEDS TO BE AGAINST THE WALL! The instructions don't mention that!!! I bet that is why all of the other people who say they could not install it had trouble. I turned the bracket over and reinstalled it correctly. But I cannot get it to be secure. It wobbles a lot. Maybe my hands are too weak to get it tight enough. I will ask my handyman to look at it next time he comes.

So the way this is supposed to install is you screw a metal piece into the wall, then put the fixture around it and tighten the screw around the metal piece, which is theoretically supposed to use pressure to hold the ring in place. As you tighten the screw though the fixture just moves off of it because the metal piece is curved. This just doesn't work, so I have to return the towel ring, and now I have two huge holes in my bathroom wall that I have to cover up. I don't get how other people are installing this item, it's the stupidest install I've ever seen.

My wife and I recently renovated our basement bathroom from a wallpapered nightmare to a farmhouse themed bath even Joanna Gaines would be proud of (ok maybe not that nice!) I thought about spraying our old ring with some oil rubbed bronze paint and saving a few bucks, but then I came across this little number on amazon and figured at this price, it was a no brainer! In a few days it arrived (go PRIME!) in simple, but protective cardboard box and I headed downstairs to install it. Out of the package the unit looks significantly more expensive than it is. The fit and finish is superb and is head and shoulders above my original idea of spraying the existing ring with spray paint and at nearly the same price! After marking the location for the two screws for the mount, I drilled the holes and installed the screws with the mount in place in a matter of a couple minutes without issue. Here comes the only negative. The recessed screw that holds the ring to the mount is VERY small. I have a couple small flathead bits, but still struggled to turn the screw especially as it recessed further into the ring. I dont see why the screw needed to be so small, I marked up the bottom of the ring and put a small scratch on the wall in my struggles. I would recommend having a flathead small enough for working on watches and the like for retention screw of the ring. After borrowing a small enough screwdriver from a friend I tightened down the screw and it has been rock solid for the past month it has been in place. In summary: This ring is an incredible value for the money, but please acquire or borrow a small flathead screwdriver for the install before you mark up your ring or the wall like I did! Solid recommendation for anyone needing a new towel ring.

The metal is a beautiful color, but i didnt realize that there are two little plastic rings right on the sides holding the ring in place.. which is super cheap because they could have just finished the ring..?

Now, I'm not a dumb person. I know how to use my blinker when I drive, I don't repost anything online without fact-checking, and I know yellow and blue make green. That being said, this ten-minute project took nearly two hours before I eventually gave up. I applaud everyone who managed to get this thing on their walls because I tried and failed, and I want to assume it's a product defect and not because I'm incompetent. My biggest gripe is the teeny, tiny, itty-bitty screw that is meant to hold the ring fixture to the mounting bracket. Aside from the minuscule length of the damn thing, I'm pretty sure it was supposed to have come partially screwed into the fixture base. For one, it was not listed with the other included parts and I found it floating around inside the bag containing the ring and not with the other small hardware. Everything went up with relative ease until it came to securing the base of the fixture to the mounting bracket. I nearly lost this tiny screw five times and resorted to using tweezers to get it in. Once I finally managed that, it would not screw in past the midway point. Going off other reviews, this is probably a product defect and it probably is easy as 1-2-3 to install. I will be requesting a refund or an exchange, whichever works out first.

This was just as shown, I order the bronze and it is dark. Matches all my other things in my bathroom and looks really nice for the price. Installing was easy for me because I have installed some like it before. I did use a black sharpie to color in the plastic ring that goes around both sides of the towel ring itself. It was really easy and only took seconds and now looks even more expensive.
