These are much lighter and do not extend down as far to be visible. And they are very strong. They hold the butcher block counter very well. These brackets got the job done! I used them to hold a very heavy 5 cube Kallax unit over my workspace. I read another review that noted the slight off square. My speed square confirmed this to be true. However, the tip is towards the wall in my very "off-square" home. The important features for me are the size and ability to hold. Perfect fit!

Used these to install new shelves in my pantry. So far they have held up great. Just know if you buy these you will need to buy anchors if you're installing them into dry wall and do not have studs to secure it with.

The bracket itself is of high quality but the Included mounting hardware is terrible. It only comes with brick mounting screws. It says you can use them for drywall but they are ONLY for brick. You’ll need giant wall plugs and screws or lag bolts to mount to drywall or studs.

These aren't square. The four that I ordered will cause the shelf to lean back 1/4" unless shimmed. Thy are shorter than advertised. My 16" brackets, are actually 15-1/4. The gusset is only spot welded in a few places, so I don't know how long that is going to hold. They could have just as easily done an actual weld, but I guess they decided to cheap out on welding material. decided to deliver mine late. The main reason I ordered this item was for the one day delivery to get a project done on time. Now that they are late, I don't have time to mess around with returns. I have to make due. I only gave it two stars because they are somewhat usable. Otherwise they do look nice, but the fitment is wonky.
