I finally had enough and went on a mission to find an alcohol-free rinse that wouldn't feel like a punishment. After using this daily for a month, I can say my quest is about 90% complete. The absolute best thing about this mouthwash is the complete lack of harshness. It's so gentle you can swish it comfortably without the frantic countdown to spit it out. My mouth feels genuinely clean, and with the anticavity fluoride, I know it’s doing the important work of protecting my teeth. The huge 1-liter bottle is also a fantastic value that seems to last forever. So, what's the catch holding it back from 5 stars? It comes down to the unique "Violet Mint" flavor and its lack of staying power. The flavor isn't your typical mint; it's much more like those little purple violet candies-a soft, slightly sweet floral taste with a whisper of minty coolness. I actually find it pleasant. The problem is, the entire experience vanishes fast. That clean, fresh-breath feeling is gone in under half an hour, unlike the lingering icy reminder you get from stronger, traditional mouthwashes. It's a simple trade-off: you get to skip the painful burn, but you sacrifice long-lasting freshness. It’s just fine!

I wanted something alcohol free and refreshing, but not burn your mouth minty. This is a calmer burn that feels really clean after brushing! It’s also just fine to freshen up middays when you can’t brush. I think the violet is a gimmick as I have had no taste or aroma of violet. (I love violet gum! So I thought this may have a hint of that familiar smell.) However, I am not docking any points to that because it’s a fine product that definitely does its job just not in flavor/smell. (And it leaves my teeth smooth and doesn’t burn the gums.) Pros: Did not burn my mouth, but is a lighter sensation than other name brands. (There is a clean feel type of burn, but you can swish longer.) The color is kind of a nice change of aesthetics if you leave it on the countertop like I do, it’s pretty. Easy squeeze and turn top. Large bottle for the cost! Definitely freshens and cleans between and during brushing routines. Cons: Violet seems like a gimmick. (Did not smell or taste violet.) Bottle cap slightly leaks down onto bottle if you use the cap for the product. The bottle is kind of thin. Don’t accidentally squeeze it picking it up when it’s new! (It will slosh out.)
