Working Perfectly with Mac
I have a Mac Studio. Recently, I purchased an Avid Carbon for my studio, which connects through Ethernet. My original plan was to use Wi-Fi, but since I transfer large files often after a day, it became apparent this solution would only work sometimes. I ordered this adapter. It's high-quality aluminum. I plugged it into a USB hub since most of my ports are being used. It took a minute to be recognized, but now it's working great. Using a hub may not be ideal, but I notice no slowdown in speed. A simple solution to s complex problem! ... show more

Works great but may slow down your mouse if also USB
This worked great and transferred 880MPS from a 1G router. Not bad. The USBC version is slightly better if you have USBC on your machine and doesn't cause speed issues if using other USB devices at the same time.

Does not work with LG Nano televisions.
I turned off the TV's wifi, plugged the ethernet cord into this converter and plugged the converter into the USB. The network could not be reached with this setup. I going to keep this adapter to use with my Lenovo laptop that does not have an ethernet port.

does the job.
To be honest...I did not want to get this adapter. However; newer computers off the shelf with modem cable inputs have crappier processors. I also ordered Cable to HDMI adapter in the hopes of not using valuable USB space. The HDMI adapter was junk. This device is small, doesn't take a lot of space on the desk/table, it holds the modem cable in place, it even lights up to let you know that connects has been made. the in house gamer has even logged time online playing & has not complained about connection issues. In short it is worth the money you pay for it. ... show more

Found a Unicorn!
Why a unicorn? Because as far as I know there is no smart-TV that has a gigabit connection natively. And when streaming from my HTPC at 4k I was getting stutter despite the fact that my network is build around Gigabit connection and I've wired it using Cat 7. I had already purchased a USB-Gigabit dongle from a different vendor and while it worked for a while it was constantly loosing the IP address I had assigned. After checking the lease length and the MAC address reservation I gave up after several weeks. I will say that the vendor just gave me a full Amazon credit without any issues. This leads me to believe that they knew there was a problem. Since none of the dongles go into what chip sets they use I had to get creative in my search. I went about this by looking at the positioning of the network lights. If they were in the same place as the one giving me problem I passed on them. The other issue was the case material. The prior unit has a plastic case that would get very warm so I wanted one that had better heat dissipation. The led me to this one. I have had it connected to my network for over 2-months now and I have had 0 issues! Speed tests show at or close to 1 Tb speeds and I have yet to drop a connection. The only thing that is odd is that the MAC address is 02:00:00:00:00:00:00:00 which usually indicates a custom ROM. Since this isn't causing issue on my network I am ignoring it for now. All in all this is a cheap, well made, and stable network dongle to give your TV 1 Tb connectivity for streaming. ... show more
