It is great if you use it a couple times a month or if you leave it up. I used mine about ten times a month and after six months the bottom screw stripped and I was unable to tighten it. Not for heavy use.

This stand is heavy, yes. I like it that way. My speaker is heavy and this stand securely supports it. I don't feel concerned about setting it as high as it will go. Very sturdy and easy to adjust and fold. I won't be traveling with it, but I would expect it to withstand a lot of packing abuse without concern. Highly recommend.
