With 44k reviews, you don't really need another, but I am writing this for anyone searching for Corsi-Rosenthal box fans, aka CR box fans. I have purchased 3 different fans at different times, searching for the best one to make a CR box. I honestly did not want to like this one the most. Does this company need my financial support? No. But if you are dealing with smoke, allergens, and/or Covid 19, you want to make a CR box, and you want it to be as quiet as possible. You really don't think about how quiet a fan is until it's in the room with you and you're trying to have a conversation! This is the fan you need. It's not too rounded to make the box not work, and it's got enough coverage of the non-fan areas to not have to bother with making a collar for it to fix the air flow. I lent out the CR box that I made with this fan to a friend who got covid and wants to keep her husband from catching it too. They are isolating, but this keeps the viral load in the air WAY down. anyway, that's why I'm buying another one today. Oh, and we also find it clears the air very quickly if we forget something on the stove! Works vastly better than the fan over the stove. This is a decent box fan. Much thinner than the old metal box fan I have. And it actually is quieter since you don't have the plastic grills rattling on the metal like on my old box fan. It's inexpensive, and strong-I $aved alot of $$ by CREATING my OWN "Air Purifier": i bought MERV-13 20" x20" x1" air filters, and BLU Painters tape (no sticky residue when removed) and TAPED the AIR FILTER to the 'intake' side of the fan. Now not only is mt house COOLER, it's EASIER TO BREATHE since the "STUFF" I DON'T need to inhale is TRAPPED! Total cost for 3 months of healthy, moving air=552.30 (Fan $36.89, Filter $10.92, Tape $4.49) and then only $10.92 each 3 months afterwards (change to a new filter) Compare THAT to commercial purifiers--andd this is PORTABLE. # Speed AND STYLISH! I STRONGLY RECCOMMEND THIS! ... show more

I haven’t had this unit for a year yet and it’s started to make random squeaking noises and rattles. I use this every night to sleep so it might be wear and tear. It hasn’t got so bad to where I can’t sleep at night - adjusting where/how it’s standing helps. But I’m planning on switching this and using it as an as needed fan and buying another one for our bedroom. ... show more

Talk about easy right out of the box! Just snap on the two enclosed 'feet' and you are ready to go. (When I picked up the fan to move it, the little suction tips on the feet stayed behind :) but I just picked them off my window ledge, and used a tiny drop or two of Gorilla Glue on each one, and pushed them back into their spaces to keep them attached to the feet.     • Pretty good but not perfect.
As with most box fans the only thing I don't like is the feet don't seem all that sturdy, especially on carpet. I have it sitting on a windowsill and it works but the length of the feet keep it from sitting as securely as I'd like. It's super light, which is great but unfortunately the lack of weight and it's rounded edges mean I can't discard the feet or turn it on it's side because it'll just wobble and fall over.
