The knife holder is sturdy and attractive and the scissors are of good quality as well. It comes with a sharpener that fits into the knife holder so that is real handy as well, although I don’t see myself needing to sharpen these for quite some time. What most folks don't pay attention to is the "country of origin" in the description. China, China China. If you buy Henkel's most affordable model of knife, you're getting a stainless steel knife made in China. These are made in China... and you can be CERTAIN that this same factory makes knives for "high end" brands too. On first examination the block is nicely done, the quality of the block and the knives appears to be just as good as my Chinese made Henkel's. Is the stainless steel as good as the Henkel's??? I don't know, time will tell, but these appear to be good enough... surprisingly nice actually! Nice enough that I'm moving my dull Henkel's to the camper and keeping these new Amazon Basics in my kitchen. They even stamped Amazon Basics on the back of the block so you don't have to bow your head in shame! Hilarious! Don't be fooled by the well known names, their knives are made in China and are little better than these, probably made in the same factory. Considering the ridiculously low price I'd say just order the Amazon Basics. You can't lose. They're returnable! Sharp as hell and they look and feel pretty nice. If you need to impress your friends order the Henkel's, Sabetier or Caphalon set for $249. Same knives different logo. Very American. ... show more

Love the classic handle look of these knives and the variety that is in the set. They are very sharp and I am happy I was able to get them at half the price as a Prime Day deal! A huge plus is that the wooden base can be stained! I stained it to match my kitchen cabinets as I'm not a fan of the unfinished wood look. Overall a great set of knives for the price. ... show more

This works well for the average person. They are strong, easy to replace, and come with a knife sharpener. The knife block is much safer than putting loose knives in a drawer with other utensils.

knives are good. but keep in mind that 6 knives are exactly the same and they are serrated, you will not use them. ordinary knives with a regular blade that you will use 4 pieces. so draw your own conclusions whether you need this set or not.

These are great knifes for the price, the knife block is really nice looking and good quality. The knives for the most part are really good. I haven't had any break but the serrated could be a little sharper and easier to cut with.

Most knives are not useable in day today cooking especially Asian. No picture in the description that shows all knives in the set. I would honestly buy any other brands knives.
