Update with more love than before!! UPDATE: I just discovered a "find my device" feature. I lost my watch and was able to find it from a feature on the app that made my watch vibrate! I'm always using the "find my phone" feature from the watch and making my watch either vibrate or ding (even when my phone is on silent mode) but now I discovered I can find my watch too!! Seriously LOVE THIS watch I love it so much that I've considered buying an additional one just to have as a backup incase anything ever happened to the one I have. IT'S THAT AMAZING There are so many things I love about this watch! I've had several smart watches ranging from $25 to $300, and this one is the BEST!! THERE ARE SO MANY FUNCTIONS! I don't like to write reviews because I'm a horrible texter from my phone but, I HAD to sit down and take the time because this watch is just SO AMAZING In no particular order: 1. I love that you can hit either button on the side in order to turn the display on. 2. The connection from bluetooth is seemless 3. Once you turn the watch on , you can easily turn the display off by covering it with your hand- which is super helpful at nighttime when you don't want to have a bright light. 4. The "find my phone: feature works perfectly even when my actual phone is on vibrate or on silent mode. It makes my phone either vibrate or ding, even if I have the ringer off 5. The app is super friendly and easy to use. 6. The voice assistant works well 7. You can voice text a reply to text messages 8. The user interface is easily customizable, allowing you to choose which features you want to quickly access 9. The GPS is built in- you do have to download a map of the area you want to locate 10. Both a pro and a con - you can only choose 50 numbers to store (which is more than many other watches allow) 11. Picture text messages display on the watch 12. Sleep tracker is informative 13. You get tips on improving your sleep score 14. Pretty in depth heart monitoring- tracks various stages beyond pulse (sleep rate, resting rate, tells you if your heart rate increased or decreased after exercise). 15. Multiple reminder options: go to sleep, walk, stand, move 16. Congratulates you on goals (steps, standing, etc) 17. I'm 74 and been using a Timex watch for decades. It does what I want which is tell me the time. However without a light seeing the time in dim light is a problem. I thought I'd try a smart watch but didn't want to pay the high cost of a Google or Samsung watch. This Amazfit Active 2 was $99. I bought the regular with the glass rather than the premium with the sapphire. It's a beautiful watch and the build quality looks really good. With the money I saved not getting the premium ($130) I bought a nice Italian calf leather strap for it and ended up paying a total of $114. This watch is so light I forget I have it on. There are tons of features that I'll never use like all the health monitoring and exercise apps. I walk and lift weights but I don't need a watch to do that. It took me a couple of days to find and turn off many features that I don't want. Basically I needed something I could read the time in dim light. Being able to customize the watch face to something I like is a bonus. I do like the compass, weather, barometer and calendar but I have them on my phone anyway so it's kind of redundant to also have it on a watch. I have two walking apps on my phone that I use for step counting. The watch also has one and it's very close to my phone apps as far as counting steps. Since you can't get texts or make calls on the watch unless you also have your phone with you (no LTE) I don't see the point, but after a couple days of use I find it is more convenient checking your watch for a text rather than digging your phone out of your pants pocket. For what I use it for it's absolutely perfect. I can read the time in dim light and it's nice getting weather alerts on the watch rather than fishing for my phone. ... show more

Absolutely. I tightened it up, put the thoughts in a more natural chronological order, removed repetition, and kept your genuine review voice. This watch is absolutely amazing. It is everything I should have gotten in the first place if I hadn’t been stingy and wasted time buying those no-name smartwatches. I did a lot of careful research before choosing this one, and I’m so glad I did. It works perfectly, syncs with everything seamlessly, and I especially love the attachable charging circle. It’s so much more convenient than having to deal with a traditional charging setup. I also really like that the screen can be locked. I researched how to connect it to my Lose It! app, and that works great as well. One of my favorite features is the move reminder because I have a habit of sitting for too long. Having the watch remind me to get up and move is genuinely helpful. If you’re considering spending $15 to $20 on a no-name smartwatch, don’t waste your time or money. Invest a little more in a quality watch. I did, and I absolutely do not regret it. My space here is limited, but trust me, you will not regret this purchase. I would give this a 5 star because I do really love it The only thing is if you have sensible skin the band might irritate your skin. Also you do have to wear it snug on your wrist otherwise it doesn't always read your heart rate throughout the day. I have tried to loosen it so it's not irritating my skin as much but it will cause it lose some heart rate tracking. I have eczema and am more prone to skin irritation and this rubber band is not really a good pairing with me but I am just going to change out the band with something different. And given the price im thinking it shouldn't be too expensive. The battery life also lasts a good amount. If time I've only charged it one time in the past 7 days. The volume for calling is not the best but I don't really use it for phone calls. I've enjoyed tracking my sleep cycle. Not a bad purchase for the price. Am that aside I really love the actually mechanics if the watch. Ive used it sleeping, showering, swimming and at my desk job. It will alert me when I have sat too long. I suffered under an Apple Watch for more than three years. Finally my series 3 was acting its age, so I decided I wanted something … different. I’m SO glad I went with the Amazfit Active!!!! I MUCH prefer the Amazfit to my old Apple Watch even in this first week. Here’s why: Fit: My old watch a higher profile and gets caught on shirt sleeves. It also slightly presses into my wrist in an awkward spot and hurts after a while. Many days I didn’t even make it to dinner without taking it off because my wrist was sore. The original band was also hard to get at a comfortable tightness, and if the watch slipped at all, the sensor would cut out and the watch would lock because of a small bracelet tattoo on my wrist. I’d say it auto-locked every couple of hours. The Amazfit is very slim and hardly feels like I’m wearing anything at all. It has been incredibly comfortable, and it has only had the connection lost because of my ink once despite wearing it with cuffed sweaters, winter coats, and wearing it to bed. This is amazing to me! Features: I used only these features on my Apple Watch: ping my phone (about 8x/day! Thank you, ADHD brain!), read texts, voice text (with humorous results), answer and handoff calls, track fitness and workouts, check the weather. I turned off most of the other features because they annoyed me. Amazfit can do all those things except voice text, which my husband is probably glad about. 😁 The pinging of my phone is a DREAM because it will ping and vibrate, and starts with a soft beep that gradually gets louder if I don’t find my phone right away. I’m using additional features on the Amazfit that I didn’t on my old watch, like Sleep tracking, heart rate, stress metric etc. This is partly because Apple didn’t have some of these features (stress level, for example), partly because the battery life on the Apple Watch was about 15-18 hours (Amazfit 5-10 DAYS) so I didn’t wear it to bed, partly because the sensor couldn’t connect half the time because of my ink, and partly because sleeping in it was uncomfortable. So I’d say the Amazfit features are a WIN. Screen on the Amazfit is much larger despite the whole watch being lighter than my old Apple Series 3. I love that Amazfit will sync with some Apple services, but is still independently. Apple Watch tends to weirdly hijack the AirPods signal for some apps. For most well known music apps it’s fine, but for other audio apps, every time the watch screen woke, the audio running on my phone would cut out as the watch tried to take over. This was actually my #1 reason for upgrading because there’s no way to disconnect AirPods from the watch in the Apple ecosystem without disconnecting them from all other devices. That’s not an issue at all with Amazfit. I also love that I can set DND (do not disturb) on my watch but still get notifications on my phone. I can’t tell you how useful this is, like if a group chat is suddenly blowing up, I can stop the haptics buzzing my wrist but still check in on the conversation on my phone’s lock screen or see them on my laptop. Not that it matters, but the Amazfit has waaaaaay more screen background options that are so much better looking than any Apple has. Premium: Now for an Amazfit Active 2 Premium/Regular comparison. I actually ordered both, thinking after I’d set up the regular that I’d rather have the sapphire glass and upgraded body. BUT I surprised myself by preferring the regular model, even after really wanting to love the Premium. Why? —The regular glass has less glare, brighter color, and is more “touchable.” Your finger slides across it smoothly like butter and it’s immediately responsive even if my hands are dry (or sweaty). The Premium glass takes a more intentional touch, feels less responsive to me, and has a very slight bulge that makes the watch feel thicker. It also seems to struggle more (like my old Apple) over sleeve cuffs. Is it thicker or is it just the texture of the glass? I don’t know, but I do know the regular Active 2 is more comfortable to wear. —The Premium is two grams heavier. Not a big deal at all, but when it comes to all-day (and night!) comfort, it is noticeable. —The leather strap with the Premium does NOT feel premium at all. It feels like a discount pleather watch strap. —The unboxing of the Premium is great BUT no cord comes with the charger. The regular is basically packaged in zipper bags in a box with some bubble wrap like Amazon did it themselves (or like it had been used and returned). Wonderfully, however, the charger of the Regular comes with a USB C/A charging cable. I know we all have dozens of those in every room, but don’t they all go into hiding the instant we actually need one? I was so tired of having to charge my Apple Watch every evening so I could use the Sleep function. I was also tired of its classic clunky shape. So I decided to switch and wish I’d done it sooner. This watch is amazing. So many features and functions. And the battery life! I am a bit over five days now and am at 28%! I suspect I’ll get two more days before having to charge. UPDATE: After 6 months of using this watch, I was traveling and at some point the app and watch stopped connecting. I tried to reconnect but the app wouldn't recognized my password, I tried to reset it but I wouldn't get any email to reset. I deleted the app and reinstalled it but it didn't work. When I tried to reset it through text, it shows that only people that live in China can reset it via text. So I tried to sign up for a new account and it tells me that my account already exits. I waited to come home to use my computer to see if that would work, but nothing works. Now, my watch has the time from the country I was traveling and I can not change it. THE WORST WATCH I HAD! I have been purchasing different models of Amazfit, and I'm so happy with this one. I was a little lost when I didn't see the charger.. but it's actually in the box!! just look for it. Yes, the Amazfit Active 2 comes with a magnetic charging base included in the box. Love this watch. It has hiking included (which Bip 5 didn't ) It is comfortable and I love the red color. I am going to use it mainly for weight training, running, walking (and walking the dog :) ) and swimming. Good little watch. Like the app in general. I use it for counting steps and sleep. On long walks, its count is similar to my iphone. The sleep tracking feature drives me batsh!+. Several nights I feel like it's accurate. Others, it's delayed in when I fall asleep or constantly shows I'm awake when I'm not. It makes me question every night's sleep.
