  • Y'all, it seriously is a great crusher!
First, a note about the picture. Yes, the handle is missing. It's not missing, it just wasn't installed yet but that was my oversight. Second, yes, those are yearling calves licking my truck in the background. All the way around and as high as they could reach. Photobomb stars. Second pic is the inaugural crush. A fresh, still cold, Lone Star can. How apropos! Now to the point of the review. The Master Crusher is awesome. A few weeks before, my cousin mentioned how great it would be to have a can crusher so we didn't end up with everything from mineral tubs, seed bucket on our late uncles brother's ATV, random boxes filled with cans and bottles. Lucky everyone is pretty good about not just dropping trash. That got me looking for a can crusher because I'm kind of the clean freak that tries to do little things to keep things cleaner and neater. Fast forward past hunting and reading reviews, I find the Master Crusher, not only sounding like a great, solid crusher for a semi-outdoors application, and not just made in the USA, but in Texas, and even Houston (where I grew up) so clickity click, I get one in the way. I had it in my hands in a few days. I had to find a way to mount it, solidly on the pipe post/drill stem of the shed/cover so I grabbed a piece of 2x6 I had laying around with marks like I'd used if for smacking bearings of something, picked up some SS hardware and 'viola, a mount solution. To class up the joint, I burnished the pine 2x6 with a torch to give it that classy look that would blend in with the rustic, drill stem it would be mounted to. Ok, humorous story aside, I got it mounted like a rock, got a lined trashcan secured below it and off to crushing a mineral tub full of nasty cans and plastic bottles. Now, this is in Trinity County where the ground is dusty, like dust, fine dust that when dry and windy, everything gets dusty, especially crushing who knows how many dirty, dusty cans and bottles, the Master Crusher was kind of a mess. I cleaned the rails off and put a little oil on them and I think we'll be good but may need to clean it every now and then. Not much you can do about that. It works great! It's easy to crush cans and bottles, although as you'd expect, if you try to crush a partially crushed or bend can or bottle, it may try to pop out if you don't orient it the right way. Once crushed, just slip it out to fall into the trashcan a go for the next. I'm glad to report that no one that used it that first weekend needed special training. Everyone was certified to crush their own cans/bottles and it seems it'll be a hit. To the comments about bending or breaking handle. I can't see how, unless you're on the 18th can to crush, after emptying, all 18 yourself, and it wasn't Coke. What I can see, is carelessness causing the support bars to bend from trying to crush a can sideways. Really, it's easy to see the handle comes down, straight down, and maybe has a little side to side tolerance, but if you try to push it in a direction it's not supposed to go, you might be successful in bending it. The handle itself, it's solid. It might take a little patience to screw in the extension but it seems that's by design. The threads seems to be meant to bind in each other making it solid and dry, so just go slow and make sure the threads aren't crossed (not easy to make that happen, but someone will try) Hope y'all enjoyed the review, it just seemed like one that a little humor would work, but don't skip over the point, this crusher is great and I expect it to be hanging right where it is for a long time. FYI, this thing looks good too, for what that's worth. Oh, well maybe one thing. The "Master Crusher" sticker....looks like it was printed from a handheld label maker, with old tape that doesn't really stick but got stuck on pretty quick, or the Sticker Installer was eating a Whataburger at the same time. It's mostly gone after use that weekend, or at least pretty banged up, but that has nothing to do with how great this Houston, Texas, USA made crusher really is!! ... show more

  • Awesome crusher
Heavy duty and easy to use. This is my new best friend lol. Mounted to a door frame gave excellent results. A side note... I'm a little ashamed to admit it but putting the handle together... please take the plastic wrap of of the threaded part. I put it together without my glasses but hey a couple of pipe wrenches later it's all good. ... show more

  • It’s a can crusher not aluminum bottle
This is by far the best can crusher under $100. Installation was very easy (I did not use the included screws as they are Phillips head and I prefer 5/16 hex head screws for secure mounting) The operator lever is 2 piece and threads together, make sure it’s not cross threaded and fully screwed in otherwise a severe weak point At a high stress point. The build is very sturdy , I used spray graphite on the guide rods for smooth operation. Regular 12oz cans crush nicely, the taller 12oz cans don’t crush straight down as the longer length creates a center sideways bend it crushes to about 1/2” or 13mm. Placing 2 crushed cans on top of each other can crush them more however repeated use will cause stress pushing beyond its intended design. I also crushed plastic 20oz bottles to save space in plastic recycling bin. Trying to crush food cans, or aluminum bottles will over stress the unit and will break it. You wouldn’t use a 1/4” drive ratchet to remove lug nuts. If you want a hand crusher for food cans or aluminum bottles you’ll need an arbor press For that. ... show more

  • Good for large cans
Pros: will crush very large cans Cons: expensive for what you get I bought this because I primarily drink 19 ounce cans and this is the only crusher that will fit those. If you don't need to crush cans that large go with something cheaper. For what you get it's very expensive. There's no anti slip pad on the bottom so the cans sometimes fly out instead of getting crushed. If this thing costed 30 or 40 bucks it'd be 5 stars but 3 times the price of the top rated can crusher its not worth it. ... show more
