Use this for 6 hours once or twice a month, battery holds up, amazing range. Had this for about a year and used it with a mixing board and hooked direct to speaker. I use this for backyard parties, cornhole tournaments twice a month and wedding ceremonies. This unit does not disappoint. It will stop music and beep if you use your phone to play music and get a text or call. That was a little annoying. I turned off notifications when using my phone and that fixed that. I use an iPad for wedding ceremonies and cornhole events, no issues. I would definitely buy this again. ... show more

First, I would like to address buying a used product from Amazon. I purchased the Alto Ultimate with the condition described as: "Used - Very Good. Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged." I received a large cardboard box with a small clear plastic baggie containing the Alto. Nothing else except for paper padding. No charging cord, no instructions. By the time I purchased a charge cord I saved a whopping $4 USD. Whoopie! Now on to the product review.... I am an audio professional, with over 40 years of TV broadcast and sound reinforcement experience. I will not bore you with response and distortion specs. This is not a straight wire. It does color the audio. If the intended use involves an area with 500 people, each with a cell phone, then you had better have a backup plan. So what can it do? Well if a performer wants to play tracks from a laptop controlled by the drummer, then that can be set up wirelessly in about a minute. How about a church "Kid-Fest" with a bouncy castle and other activities? You want sound from speakers that cover the area but don't want a bunch of XLR cables that have to be taped down. Specifically, a non-critical activity where you can use very good audio with a bit of latency. I really like having a couple of these in my tool box for a quicker setup and strike. My wish list: Wish there was a clipping LED to make setup even easier. And a way to turn off that ridiculous signal loss beep. In summary, the sound is very good and works great in many situations. I have a nice sized basement that doubles as a band room and Karaoke club. So my sound for Karaoke normally runs from my computer through a scarlet solo to XLR into my board. Very little EQ required for nice thumping sound. My goal was to reduce cords required for the Karaoke setup since a lot more people are involved. But I didn’t want to sacrifice sound quality. I tested the sound back and forth between the corded setup and this (going through my board/mixer). Results: Surprisingly good. Some EQ’ing IS needed to get you where you want to be - and most others probably won’t notice the difference (depending on your FOH setup). But the alto comes across a little thin on the bottom end. If you’re an audiophile, you’ll probably want something else, or stay corded. But for everyone else you’ll think this is great. No dropouts. Clean sound. Drop the high frequencies a little. Boost the low end. Subwoofer helps. ... show more

Studio-level quality. It adds a slight lift and sounds excellent, without the need for high volume. Very comfortable to use. It connects to a dedicated channel, with independent control over all effects, completely separate from the other channels. I’m really enjoying this product.

Am a DJ and a bunch of times I just rent out my speaker on it’s own but it’s not Bluetooth it’s just a rcf art 912a speaker so I got this and plugged it into the speaker and it works great easy to use and he sound quality is great I didn’t experience any issues with this so now I rent out my equipment with this it does feel a little junky material but it still works and it’s decently bigger then expected and the only downside is that if you have the volume on the speaker and you disconnect from the device it makes a very loud beeping sound so make sure to have the volume to the lowest then once it’s connected plug it into the speaker but overall works great and does the job for me ... show more

I guess when you just need something convenient, it "works", but do note: 1. It does not sum into mono. I found out later, the manual says this: "Note: When wirelessly connected to a single loudspeaker, you will only hear half of the stereo audio signal. In order to hear the full, summed signal, consult your device's documentation to see how to set your audio output to mono." 2. The output has distortion, it's not obvious unless you listen for it. I was using it to do a rough tune for a system and was chasing my tail trying to find what was causing the distortion, well it was this thing. I plugged in directly with a cable and everything was perfectly fine. I know BT doesn't beat a wire for audio quality but most other BT adapters I've tried are fairly clean. This definitively made my system sound worse that it actually was, everyone could hear it, not just me. If you need something quick and easy with no expectation of quality, this works, but I wonder if some of the competitors actually sound better or are they just the same guts in a different package.
