Installed these on my Camry and initially ran them off my aftermarket head unit because I was putting off the dreadful job of running new speaker wire. Just off deck power I was very surprised with how nice they sounded, huge improvement over the stock speakers. I finally got new knukonceptz 12ga ofc speaker wire ran to the doors from my audiocontrol 5 channel amp that is giving them 75 watts RMS and holy crap I was blown away with how long and good they sounded loud. I would say it isn't completely necessary to run them off an amp but I would highly recommend it. The bass and mid bass performance is wild and these speakers alone will rattle your side and rear view mirrors. 10/10 and got them for a discount since these are the old model of r series so they're a great value. They handle every bit of the 75 watts RMS I'm giving them and I bet they could easily do the rates 100 if you adjust your hpf correctly but I like mine turned off to get good midbass response. ... show more

Best speakers on the market for the money. Loud, clear sound, no distortion, and the bass is great, highs and lows. I added a 8 inch sub with and Alpine amp to take the stress off the speakers, and it’s perfect. Sun fits perfectly behind my back seat of my Tacoma truck.

Basic factory stereo - replaced the front door and A pillar tweeters. Very noticeable improvement on clarity, and range. Good bass improvement. Quality sound. I’m pleased.

    • All I can say is WOW!
I have upgraded many stereo systems in vehicles over the years, always looking for better sound. My Tesla M3 was the first vehicle I ever had that didn't need a single improvement. That said, I just picked up a '24 Ford f150 Lightning. It has the Bang & Olufsen 8 speaker system which you would think would sound amazing with a name like that, but it doesn't. I did some research and these Alpine speakers were most frequently recommended on forums and YouTube. I figured I would pick up a pair of components for the front and see how they sound. All I can say is WOW. I changed out just the mid-woofers in the door in about 45 minutes but ran out of time before thanksgiving dinner and proceeded to drive about two hours to my sons house without changing the a-pillar tweeters. I was absolutely blown away! I have swapped out many factory speakers over the years and have never experienced such a transformation in sound. The lows were crisp and accurate, mids were no longer muffled and distorted, and somehow it seems like even the highs were improved. I am genuinely impressed and will be getting the 6.5" set for the rear doors soon. I don't even know how changing a two out of eight speakers could make such a difference.     • Alpine Support Isn't Good
One set of speakers I received were defective. One of the midwoofers didn't function at all. Please ensure you test them prior to installation. I even reached out to Alpine support and they just totally ignored me. Thankfully Amazon has a good return policy and refunded me for them. When they are functioning, they are nice speakers, and paired with a good amplifier they really crank and have a nice crisp sound. They seem to hold up good as well, just make sure you get a good set. ... show more

These speakers are absolutely fantastic. The bass response is solid and clear. No distortion. I have them in my Ford lightning running off a JP 243AB. Next time I'll get a better amp but they still thump

Garbage. Alpine really let me down with these piles of junk. Jbl's i took out that had ripped foam sounded better than these and they cost less. If you are thinking of getting them don't!
