I was concerned about the fit, as there were so many conflicting reviews. I am 5’7” tall, 140 lbs. a little broad shouldered & I have long arms. I ordered a medium. This coat is AWESOME! Roomy enough to wear my coziest, thickest hoodie & sweater while still giving me a shape. Arms a slightly tighter than the body of the coat but still roomy enough for layers. The half-gloves are awesome & fit fine, even with my long(ish) arms. This is by far my favorite heavy winter coat I’ve ever purchased for myself! It’s very soft too! Reviews talk about the floppy hood but I LOVE it! So cute, unique & cozy!! I am very happy with this purchase!

Originally I purchased the drawstring parka which I did like but it felt like a lot of coat on my frame. Just to be sure I purchased this jacket and this style to be more tailored less bulky but still felt extremely warm. Length came to one inch above my knee (size Large) and I am 5'4" 135lbs - very happy with this style and the no fur around the hood is a plus! Bring it on Winter! I am ready!

I love this red parka and I'm extremely disappointed that the arms fit very tight with a lightweight shirt. I was hoping for a roomier fit in the arms because I wear mostly sweaters and sweatshirts in the winter. I am a size medium and ordered a large for extra room but the arms are way too tight. Unfortunately, I think I am going to have to return it... I also thought it was important to mention that for those of us who are 5‘3“ tall or shorter this coat comes about an inch above my knee. It is not as short as it looks on the model in the picture… UPDATE: I re-ordered this wonderful parka in an extra large hoping it would be roomier in the sleeves. It is slightly better and I have decided to keep it because of all its wonderful features and the warmth factor! If I could change one thing it would be the lining of the outside pockets. The material tends to stick on my not so smooth hands! Still wish it came in a petite to accommodate those of us who are 5‘3“ and shorter. The Alpine North crew are wonderful! When I emailed them their response was quick and helpful. I would not hesitate to order from them again!!

I really wanted to like this jacket as it seemed like it would keep me very warm in the Colorado winters but it was just so darn heavy. I ended up returning because of that. If you don't mind the weight then this coat would definitely keep you warm. It was very well made. Pockets on the front were way too small though.

I live in upstate New York. I got this coat about a month ago and have worn it in temps down to about 15F. It's *very* warm. It is bulky but not uncomfortably so. I wear it to walk the dog, so I'm outside in it for over an hour at a time. I do not get overheated, just nice and cozy. Things I wish it had: 1- drawstring for the hood, which tends to slip back off. 2- two way zipper to make it easier to drive while wearing it (the zipper seems to be good quality) and 3 - larger exterior pockets. My phone just barely fits. I do like the interior pockets. Overall a good coat. It's replacing a parka I had for over 20 years, hope this one holds up.
