  • This amp is great
I have one in my s2000 pushing a shallow mt 10" sub inside the cab under passenger foot well. One in my raptor pushing a shallow mt 10" sub under rear seat. One in my Ford F-350 Dually pushing a shallow mt 10" sub behind rear seat One in my closet next to a shallow 10" sub waiting to be installed lol Probably will go in my 79 Datsun roadster 2000. My son has one in his focus st pushing a shallow mt 10" sub in his rear hatch. These Amps are great, no need for remote wire or RCA cables; if you have a factory radio no problem, no need for the crappy LOC converters that just rob you of a good signal. Super easy to install, small and compact, high quality. 10" shallow mount sub is light and compact also and together you get a bass pounding system that's light weight and doesn't take up much space. Want more bass get a 12" shallow mount sub lol ... show more

  • Alpine quality!
Great little amp for up to a 10" sub. Powering a 6.5" sub and it hits, it hits hard for something so tiny!! Easy to install and sounds great! Highly recommend!

  • Alpine quality on point
This amp is really good at powering your subwoofer that meets its 250 Watt RMS specifications. Birth sheet says 289watts at 14V on 8gauge power wire and I believe that's definitely what my beautiful Kicker 43cvr124 is getting. The bass sounds so accurate. When I think of the low cost of my system and the quality parts that built it, I really appreciate name brand companies that make them. All alpine amps give thier rated power. Alpine makes great amps and this one is no different. ... show more

  • It's worth noting that I am more of an audiophile than a bass head and this amp will not satisfy bass heads that want to shake t
Had this for about a month at this point and all is well. Its installed in a 2015 Chevy Cruze. I wanted this amp in particular because of the low wattage and high level auto turn on feature, I was not looking forward to removing the entire radio or going in the fuse box for a turn on signal. It works as it should. I tapped a rear speaker for the signal and turn on. The amp never fails to sense a signal and turns right on. I'm running it at 4 ohms for 150 watts into a Boston Audio 200 watt rms 12 inch sub and this bass is very strong and as clear as a pre out signal would be. I know because I ran the same sub in my old car with a pre out connection from an aftermarket head unit. No noticeable difference. It's actually pushing 167 watts according the test result in the box and its enough to rattle my mirrors, door panels and shake the seats, which is plenty for me. It's worth noting that I am more of an audiophile than a bass head and this amp will not satisfy bass heads that want to shake the entire block, even in 2 ohm mode. It's currently about 90 degrees here most days and no overheating issues from the amp during my 20 minute daily commute. So now there are a couple things that irk me about it. First is the ridiculously tiny power and ground terminals on this amp. They're so small it's stupid. I could not find any terminals small enough and of a large enough wire gauge to fit. I had to attach bare copper to the amp's terminals. Second is that the amp is always on if the car is on, not if the radio is on. Now I am not sure if this is even the amp's fault or the car's. Cruzes have constant auxiliary power to the radio if the ignition is on, so it may be sending signal to the amp even while in standby. If the amp is too sensitive then I am not sure whether it is due to the nature of high level auto turn on technology or the amp itself. I don't know how sensitive the amps low level input is and I'm not going to bother testing it. Regardless, it is not a real issue, it does turn off when the ignition is off and that's what's important but I felt I should mention this. Good amp, very small too, about the length and width of a dvd case. ... show more

  • Perfect for BMW X5 E53 Non DSP Stock System
First let me start by saying that this was my first ever Sub-woofer install and it turned out to be perfect. I have a BMW X5 E53 and I am one of those who love to keep everything stock. I was lucky enough to have been able to get a Stock Sub-woofer that is for the DSP Systems only for free. For those who know or are familiar with the stock sub-woofer, it hides into the rear compartment on the passenger side which is what I wanted. I also wanted to stay with alpine because the stock amp is alpine and I wanted to stay with the same or close to the same wattage and plus I trust the Alpine brand deeply. Now, The stock headunit does not have RCA outputs, which isn't a problem at all for this amp. Before I forget to mention this, you do not need a LOC unit for this amp and even better is you also don't need a remote turn on wire, as this amp has a sensor built in and a LOC built in all in one, so you only need to tap the rear speaker wires and the amp will turn on and off with the stock system which is great. The easiest spot to tap the rear speakers is from the wiring of the stock amp in the drivers side rear compartment area. The amp fits perfectly on top of the stock CD changer and I used double sided tape which holds it stead without a problem. This amp is amazing and really makes the stock sub-woofer rock once the amp is tuned right which will take time and dependent on your ears. Now, The stock sub in the DSP sucks because the amp really isn't strong enough to fully power it, but when adding its own dedicated amp takes it to an entire different place, I wired the stock speakers in the sub in parallel. The sound blends in with the stock system perfectly well and the bass when tuned right is perfect for those who are not really into that 12inch woofer bass that will set off alarms or peoplewho don't like their music sounding like a night club. Again, I have read many reviews from people who did this same install that said that the sub was horrible and sounded like crap, but those are people who really didn't take the time to tune the amp well. It is going to take a lot of time, a lot of getting in and out of the car, a lot of different music types to get it right. I listen to a lot of different music, hip hop, Reggae, Latin, Salsa, House, Jazz, Country.... And it sounds great and I am beyond happy with it. It took me less than two hours to install it following the guidelines of BSW Audio Amp Install. They have videos on it but the video are for those who have DSP, they allow you to download the non DSP instructions which helped me more than the videos. This amp changed the way my stereo sounds, by adding this amp and sub it takes a lot of stress off the speakers as the bass is less on the speakers and more on the subwoofer. Before I forget, The stock Sub-woofer is made of two 6.5 woofers, so if you're looking to do this as well, remember to not lower the cross over to less than 60, as I feel that the best setting for these to hit hard is 120, which my guess is that people leave their crossover at 60 or below which is why it blows out the 6.5 woofers as they cannot handle it. After I put the crossover to 120 or slightly very slightly less than 120 and the bass boost slightly raised I was able to get the right amount of bass. Well I guess that's it, if anyone has questions please feel free to ask. Thank you ... show more

  • Really pushes the 12" Sub
I like the initial performance. Just make sure you don't use too heavy gauge wire for the power hook ups. It really drives my 12" Alpine mono sub. Easy plug n play, fine tune.
