I purchased the 8000 to replace another brand that runs our aquaponic system that died after a few years in service. It runs 24x7x365. Unfortunately it died just 2 weeks outside of the 3 year warranty. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a new impeller assembly at no charge (I just had to pay shipping). This did not resolve my issue, so they sent me a brand new pump at no charge.     • Prepare to protect and to cleaning this pump!

I bought this in 2020 and in 2022 it completely seized up (three seasons). (6 month seasons) If you buy this pump, I suggest you have a regular maintenance routine if your pond or waterfall has debris and well water. If this is running in a completely clean, filtered water system then it is a great pump. Leaves, sticks and other items will clog this pump up quick and your motor will eventually seize up. We have a high metal content well water and it slowly builds up around the inner parts. Not the error of the pump exactly. I had to take it apart often and had take a wire bristle brush on my drill to clean it. I did that 3-4 times a season. You will need to have other filters around this pump to slow the process down from the leaves and sticks. Plan on adding another layer of filtering around the pump to keep the larger debris from building up around the intake housing. If you are the type of person that likes to do nothing and expect things to keep working at peak performance than hire someone to maintain your stuff! Any pump requires some bit of effort. Once you take it apart once, it becomes second nature and quicker each time. ... show more

These pumps work very well I have a couple of them not do to problems but I have just kept upgrading to a larger one every month or so I use the pump to drain my pond partially and refill it, when draining I turn it on full power and when using my fountain turn it down using a resister.I did have one pump go out and GRACE at ALPINE CORP took excellent care of me and I had a new pump at my door the next day, it sure nice to have companies and people still like that I will never use any other pumps. We Love our Alpine pump we have a pond in the back yard with Koi fish it keeps the water circulating as well as it has enough force to run the waterfall. It is an amazing pump would never go with any other brand had to exchange my last pump three years ago, it was a quick and easy process they exchanged it for a brand new one. I purchased this pump almost 3 years ago and its been performing flawlessly 24/7 up until recently for unknown reasons it services my koi pond with 4 waterfalls , when it stopped I called the company to see if they had any trouble shooting ideas , they informed me i had a 3 year warranty and to follow a few simple instructions for getting it replaced , their response and response time for this was amazing , sent all my paperwork in over the weekend and had a response with an RMA before 9 am on Monday . This is an incredible company. The customer service is great. I had an 8000 GPH pump running the stream for 10 years before it finally died and it was my fault. I never took it apart to clean it. I’ve got another 4000 GPH pump running the waterfall and I have an incubator running a 3000 GPH pump. There’s a big oak tree above the pond and all the leaves fall down into the pump and it shoots them up just fine ... show more
