  • Quality Purchase, Life Easier!
Size: 5200 GPH Pattern Name: Pond Pump
Would I buy it again? Absolutely! This being my second PAL 5200 Submersible Pump from Alpine Corporation in the past 14 years, I am very pleased with my choice and this product. This pump meets the product descriptions given by the manufacture as selling points to purchase this pump, or a like pump from Alpine. The pump is compact, sturdy, and for as long as they have run, I would say well designed. The pump has performed quite satisfactorily producing the power, flow, and lift that I was needing for 3 fountains, while operating very quietly, almost unheard (it is submerged)! Although a relatively clean pond, deer and birds drink from the raised fountains and leave behind their residual effects which pose no problems for the pump. With heavy minerals in our well water (Hard Water), I surmise that my first pump froze up due to a mineral build-up; otherwise, it is likely the pump would still be running. Having had an issue with my pump, I did contact Alpine Corporation’s Customer Service. Their staff, and especially Ms. Delima, have been extremely helpful and considerate. After providing them with pictures and receipt of past purchase, they have responded quickly, professionally, and with consideration for my dilemma. The fact that you can reach someone at Alpine Pumps (email exchange) is reason alone to use their pumps! Great product! ... show more

  • Amazing Product! Even MORE Amazing Customer Service!!!!
Size: 8000 GPH Pattern Name: Pond Pump
I have bought 2 of these Alpine pumps (a 6500 and a 8000) for a small pond with 2 water features at my home. After a year, the 6500 stopped working. I called Alpine's Customer Service Department and explained my problem. First, let me say that a HUMAN BEING actually answered the phone. Second, the HUMAN BEING took aggressive action to satisfy me without being prompted to do so...EXTRAORDINARY!! I was asked to take some pictures of my non-functioning 6500 and send them to customer service for review. I was called the next day...WAIT...did you hear that? They called me...REALLY! I was advised that I was being shipped a NEW pump to replace my broken one. 2 days later my new pump arrived and has been working perfectly ever since (3 months now). There are cheaper pumps on Amazon, but I cannot believe that any other company would be able to match the incredible level of personalized customer support that Alpine did. I am a Pastor, and this company is one that I have been praying for! Thank you Alpine for being a company that says what they will do and then does what they say they will do! Blessings and Grace to you all! Pastor Michael Duffy ... show more

  • Good customer service
Size: 4000 GPH Pattern Name: Pond Pump
I bought this product in April 2022 to replace a failed pump for my small waterfall. The flow was better then the original. Now the better flow keeps the water from running on the stone wall behind the waterfall. 2 weeks ago the new Alpine pump failed. It is a tight space where the pump goes so I bought the same pump that day. I got the new one right away installed it and it worked fine. Reading through the paper work I found out it came with a 3 year warranty. I contacted the company and left a voice mail. They also have a text number listed. I got a text back right away from Pattie. She was so helpful. She asked I take a 10 second video of the pump not working a picture of the tag. She said she would get me a new pump did some paper work on her end gave me a ticket number. There was a $30 shipping fee that I paid and the pump was going to be sent out in 3 or 4 days. All this took less then 10 minutes. All done by text. No hanging on the telephone. It was so easy. Pump arrived today and now I have a spare that I should have bought already. Alpine is lucky to have a girl like Pattie. ... show more

  • I’d buy it again in a minute.
Size: 5200 GPH Pattern Name: Pond Pump
I’ve been using this pump in zone 5 for two years now. It’s pumping uphill roughly 20’ on a steep slope and you can see the substantial outflow in the photo. I have put this pump through pretty harsh conditions: overheated it twice, let it freeze solid in the pond last winter, let it run for more than 24 hours at a time, power cycle about 4 times every day, ran it with restricted flow for hours, and used it to pump out clay-rich water with no filter. I even got a rock stuck in the impeller. By all rights, this pump should be long dead. The photo was taken at the time of this review and you can see it hasn’t slowed down at all. Note: I am using a full 3” pvc outflow line and a fully encapsulating filter I made of batting and plywood frame. The filter also has a pressure release valve to allow full flow through a larger gauge mesh if the regular filter material gets clogged. All of that is to say that for the majority of the time, the pump runs unrestricted. I have an ~1300 gallon pond with goldfish and koi, and do full water replacement once annually in the spring. Other than that, a single layer of batting surround this pump is the only filtration I use. (If you use batting, make sure you make a VERY rigid frame for it in such a way that it can’t be sucked into the intake. I finally settled on a design that worked, but the pump literally crushed the first 4 attempts due to the strong vacuum it created!) In all, this pump is a very good value: truly submersible for long periods, very high powered for koi pond applications, very durable, and easy to service (the body separates by rotating on its axis without compromising the seal to the motor.) If this pump ever dies, I’ll just order the exact same one. Good luck! ... show more
