  • Reliable, high performing dehumidifier
Color: Green
This is our 4th unit. The first 2 we’re great and dried out the house following a prior flood unfortunately they we both submerged in saltwater this year. Base on the reliable performance of the initial units we wen right back for more of the same. Good value with a built in pump allowing you to use an elevated drain like a sink. ... show more

  • satisfied with the dehumidifier
Color: Yellow
I always wanted one of these dehumidifiers for my little project in the basement. Now I have one, glad to have it. works well, solidly built but not too heavy. Sometimes I wish to have wheels, but you really do not move it around much and I have my dolly. hope it lasts.

  • Not so Excellent unit priced perfect buyer beware!!!
Color: Yellow
PURCHASED May 2019 I purchased this unit based on most reviews, and I’m 100% pleased so far only had about 3 weeks. But since my 18 year old Kenmore unit that worked perfect died, I’ve had nothing but junk since everything today is china crap for $250 do your self a favor and spend the Money, you get what you pay for. This unit rocks! It’s super quiet and is commercial grade with out the super high price $1600-$2500 plus at $999 it’s perfect. You’ll go through 3 of the cheap ones that don’t even pull the humidity out. This unit is in a completely finished basement no visible water ever but can run 55-60 % humidity this unit has a pump with about a 25-30 foot hose it pumps very even no high pressure that would make the hose jump out of a sink where I have it draining I tested it over night in a 5 gallon bucket so in about 12 hrs it filled the bucket 1/2 full. It’s running my basement at 46% humidity at 69degrees When the basement goes down to 65 degrees or lower it does ice up the coils but it automatically goes into defrost for a few min and defrost the coil. The digital read out Is awesome it reads the temp and humidity going in and out of the unit also as you scroll through it reads the coil temp, the actual compressor amps at3.6, total amps with the squirrel cage style blower about 5 amps really efficient on electric. Reads the total job hours and can be reset this is the total time it’s been running. When it reaches the humidity set point the entire unit shuts down. It retains its settings if power fails. And it also ready total life hours. It reads grain PPm. And has a screen for total in and out temp and humidity. It has a metal washable slide in filter, and the hose can be curled up and it has a Velcro hanger, very nice power cord that lights up at the wall outlet. It has a button to surge the internal sump pump which count downs 25 sec as it manually drains the water if you press it otherwise it does it automatically when it’s full. And the warranty is better then many at much more cost . So these are the pros ! My only slight con is it is heavy about 70 lbs but it has two very strong handles to pick it up I had no problem. And other con is I have a burber carpet in my basement and when I slid the unit to the wall the rubber feet made black marks on my carpet but it cleaned up with soap and water. Nothing to make me not want to buy it. I will be purchasing another one for my 1200 foot shop. Also you can stack them and hand truck it. The plastic housing is super quality and tough stuff. This is a super quality pro unit. Oh btw my basement is also 1200 Sf. They say in the listing it can be submerged ? I’m not sure about this or why you would want to cause the power cord that plugs into the unit has a little flap that pops up to plug the female end in but it surely is not a water tight seal so I would not recommend this it will short out plus why would you it’s not a sump pump. It’s a dehumidifier? It has a small sump pump built in to pump out the water it collects but not to pump out lets say a foot or more water flooded in your basement. For that I would get a sealed pump, then once all your damage water is out you certainly can now use this to dry up the environment. Highly recommend I hope the review helps ! PLEASE READ !!!!!! UPDATE May 2021 unit failed after 15 months error code E5 refrigerant leak! Like many others that bought these units. Ok so here goes! I tried to email the company twice about my problem, they got back after the second email and saint to call. I called and spoke to Cynthia very nice but just like many others it was over a year old and they will not issue a shipping return label. I live on the east coast there in Cali.. they wanted me to pay $200 to have a new unit shipped out but continued on my existing warranty! Really??? I’m going to pay an additional $200 on top of the grand i already spent to try again? After telling her that many people are having this problem, she understood my frustration but still no resolve yet. Had to send pictures of the error code they wanted to send me out a new sensor. But I knew it was not a sensor cause the unit just ran and made no heat it was done. Then they wanted me to pay $400 to upgrade to a $1400 unit made with the same components. Btw this is not an American made appliance. It’s made in China. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told there all in China and could not speak to me because of the time difference??? Really ok how about at 3 am our time? There Amazon page is not true as an American company selling made in America products! Not true. After weeks of emails and phone calls they offered to ship another unit. I refused after all I was going through I wanted my money back a full refund. They finally refunded the full amount but I was expecting they were sending it to me directly, they issued a refund to a credit card I used 2 years ago on Amazon to a account I closed and no longer have access to. But has a balance so I can’t get the money back and no longer use that company, so I’m screwed. I have a 90 lb big yellow door stop. And no money to buy another unit. I should have excepted the new unit at least I would have had something in hand to maybe work for another year or so. So now I have to repair this unit myself which I will because I know how to fix refrigeration systems. But I shouldn’t have to do this. So please please heed this warning! This company does not have any service ability they are an American front for a Chinese product and all they can do is issue parts, help you take it apart and try and fix minor things. But if it’s a major thing like a leak or a compressor failure your screwed. And let me tell you I’ve been researching these for years. So when you see a ton of these that all look similar, but from different companies. There all the same. All these things are being made in China hundreds of thousands and being sold to any company in the USA and have their name put on it. Another company colzlar same thing. They will only replace it if your lucky. I specifically went with this unit because it listed it used a rare earth metal in the coils with a spec coating to prevent refrigerant leaks which is very common on these things, cause there junk! We have refrigerators in our homes that last 10,15,20 years and never have a problem. But they can’t make these crap dehumidifiers last 2 years. And anyone who’s not familiar it’s a simple refrigeration system like your home frig. Just operating at a different temperature. Or more like your home A/C it removes the humidity. In this case instead of the warm air blowing off the condenser outside it blows it back into the room and heats the room up, or some you can duct outside. Unfortunately this is the reality. Don’t get me wrong you see my first review was great I was loving this over the $200 household units. It kicked butt! But they don’t hold up. Oh and do you know what the rare earth metal is ? Aluminum! Lol! That’s rare huh! With an epoxy coating to help preserve it but it still leaked! If they just used good copper coils and braised them it would last 25 plus years. But that’s our life today it’s all throw away crap! I bet these cost less then $150 to make in China and they sell them here for a grand or more.! Now I’ll have to epoxy the aluminum coils under a vacuum to repair it then put in the 21 oz of refrigerant. They have no service centers anywhere in the country. I told them why don’t you reach out to local refrigeration and A/C companies to do your warranty service, and I was told that most companies don’t want to work on them . Hmm maybe I should take this on, unless it’s because they don’t want to pay? Its cheaper to send you another piece of junk since it doesn’t cost anything to make in China. If you decide to buy any of these things from any of the different companies selling these on Amazon I would highly recommend purchasing the Amazon extended 4 year warranty it will be well worth it! At least you’ll either get a new unit or a refund through Amazon! Good luck everyone! Such a scam of crap! It doesn’t take much to make something decent that will last! They just don’t want to! quality is just out the window.! ... show more

  • Turns My SW Florida Garage into a Usable Gym
Color: Green
So I’ve only had this beast running for two days, but I already feel like I need to write it a thank-you card. I live in Southwest Florida where the humidity is basically a lifestyle. I’ve got two mini-splits in my garage-turned-gym, and while they can drop the temp to 65F no problem, the humidity still lingers like that one guy at the party who won’t take the hint. The walls sweat. The floor sweats. I sweat before I even touch a dumbbell. Then this thing showed up. I plugged it in, ran the hose through a hole I drilled in the garage wall (directly into the same line as my mini-splits drain), hit the purge button to make sure it was empty, and let it do its thing. Within an hour, the humidity was down to 40 percent, and it’s staying there. At 70F, my garage now feels like an actual climate-controlled gym, not a mold incubator. If it can do that during Florida rainy season, I have full confidence it can handle anywhere short of Atlantis. Now, it does kick out some heat. The air coming out is about 10 degrees warmer than what goes in. It’s not unbearable, but you’ll notice it if you put your hand right next to it. Think of it like having a red dragon in mating season exhale at your back while you’re trying to deadlift. But my mini-splits are handling it just fine, and between the two of them and this dehumidifier, it’s a perfect balance of cool and dry. My electric bill may groan a bit, but my workouts won’t. It's not quiet, but it's also not the loudest thing in the room. Between the dehumidifier, two mini-splits, and a couple of fans, my garage already sounds like the engine room of the Enterprise. This just adds to the background hum. But yeah, don’t expect peaceful yoga vibes unless your idea of Zen includes the soothing roar of industrial airflow. Physically, the unit feels solid. I wouldn’t say it’s heavy, maybe 70 pounds. But I’m a 50-year-old guy in decent shape and didn’t break a sweat moving it around. I haven’t had to deal with customer service yet, so no complaints there (and hopefully no updates). I know some folks had failures just after a year and got the dreaded E5 or E4 error codes. If that happens, I’ll update my review and scream into the void like everyone else. But for now, this thing is kicking humidity’s ass, and I love it for that. If you’re trying to reclaim a garage from the swamp gods and actually use it for something productive, like working out or storing things that aren’t mildew, this is your ticket. ... show more

  • Powerful, dependable, relatively quiet
Color: Yellow
The Alorair 180 PPD is a great dehumidifier. I installed them in three of our family homes in the basement and the first I bought is now running for 4 years almost nonstop without problems. These basements are rather large and have a tendency to smell musty when it rains. The Alorair keeps them dry and smell-free. Best of all they are relatively quiet for how powerful they are. 5 stars! ... show more
