  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good, could be better.
Size: loft
Easy to assemble and sturdy. Because of the base board, the loft bed does not fit snuggly with the wall. Hence it is a little bit wobbly. A queen bed comfortably fits under the loft bed with plenty of head room. I am giving it 3.5 stars because rungs of the ladder are square and thin which are very hard of the feet of my kid. There is no gap at the top of the ladder due to which it becomes much more difficult to climb in and out of the bed. As you can see in the picture I have added some pool noodles on the rungs to make it more comfortable for my kid, but, it is a temporary solution as the pool noodles keep moving about while climbing. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great space saver
Size: loft
I was impressed by the loft bed’s sturdiness and quality. We bought this for our grandson’s weekly sleepovers and we also wanted to use the room the rest of the time for a reading room, so the space saving feature of a loft bed made perfect sense. It was easy to put together, requiring 2 people as per the instructions, but much of the assembly can be done by one person. The only thing I don’t like about it is that you can only use a very thin mattress with it. We bought an 8” mattress and then found that it was as high as the guard rail, so I now have to find a way to raise the sides that doesn’t cost too much. Otherwise, we are very satisfied with the bed. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars It’s good, not great. A good value.
Size: loft
Pros: Its reasonably priced, looks fairly nice, and is a big space saver. Easy to assemble with supplied tools. Quality is decent. Everything lines up with little to no effort. Cons: It’s not super sturdy/stable. You definitely need to attach it solidly to a wall. I drilled holes through the frame and screwed it to the wall where the wall studs are located. In order to give good clearance below for a desk, it’s quite a bit higher than a regular bunk bed…so a standard 8’ ceiling might be a bit close for some people. The posing the ladder isn’t very flexible. It can either be at the front edge of the right end of the bed or the back edge of the left side. That’s it. Also, the rungs of the ladder are narrow and may put a lot of pressure and slight pain on the foot. Furthermore, the railing goes all the way around. There’s no clear out for the ladder. Combined with the high height/low clearance to the ceiling, it could be a challenge to climb up and down for smaller kids and older kids. Overall, the price is unbeatable. Just take into consideration the cons when buying. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars As a grown adult sleeping on the top bunk
Size: twin over twin
The product actually does come with instructions on assembly, unlike what the first review wrote. I'm 24 weighing at 105 lbs having had used the top bunk for a week, so far everything is sturdy and reliable. My mattress is 6 inches amd I feel very safe with the amount of rail left to stop me from rolling over. I got this bunk because it looked like it would provide enough headspace for the bottom bunk. We moved my 13 y/o sister's 10 1/2 inch mattress onto the bottom bunk and the headspace left is about 28 inches-- I hunch over as a 5'5" adult and my little sister hits her head sometimes as she's getting out of bed--we're looking to replace it to a 6 inch mattress, and it's looking like that'll provide 32 inches of headspace for the bottom bunk. Top is great, there's so much space difference from my bed to the ceiling I could never hit my head sitting up. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, fun bonding time
Size: loft
My son, 12, and I put this together in about an hr and a half-2 hrs. We started with the back panel first. Once we got it figured out and got ourselves into a groove, it really flew. Now, mind you, I was working with a messed up ankle which made it a bit more difficult. He had the best time putting the slats in because he got to hang on like monkey bars to pull them down into proper placement. We had bonding while building it too. Might be important to note: I'm his mom.=-} I think he and dad would likely have come to blows while building this, taken 10 hrs, and in the end ... I would've been the one to finish it anyway, LOL =-D Have fun!! ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Good and bad..
Size: loft
The media could not be loaded. This bed is very pretty. I assembled by myself in about 2 hrs. I can stand under it without having to lower my head (I’m 4’10). It is much higher than I expected. What I don’t like. It is very wobbly. I’m not sure about the 400lb weight capacity. I will say my husband and I and my 4yo got on it together to test it and that’s about 340lbs total. Although I wouldn’t recommend that amount of weight for sleeping on it. It comes with wall mounts for safety and I highly recommend you use them. I also don’t like the ladder as it is uncomfortable for climbing without something on your feet. Overall it’s a nice looking bed. I recommend it but only for older lighter kids due to its lack of sturdiness. We personally didn’t buy it for our 4yo but mainly to make space in his room and to use it as a guest bed. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice bed
Size: loft
The bed was easy enough to assemble if you read the directions all the way through, then made changes when something made no sense. Our frame and wood accents were scratched or damaged from shipping. The bed really isn’t packaged for the rough handling it’s weight probably ends up enduring. The stairs into the bed are not for a heavier person. They really dig into your feet when you use them. ... show more
