This belt is top notch in quality and construction. Just what you expect from Alan Edmonds. However, beware that if you are purchasing this belt to match an older pair of "chili" shoes you will be disappointed. They do not match. It seems that the company is now manufacturing items with a new and darker color and calling it "chili". In reality, the new color is actually know as "dark chili" but they simply call it chili. Seems to me that if you are going to promote your shoes as a lifetime product you should expect some customers will take that seriously and own resoled shoes for 20+ years. You should differentiate your colors appropriately! Also beware that if you choose your waist size when ordering you will receive a belt that is the wrong size! I chose waist size because the belt size is listed below the waist size and is greyed out. It led me to believe they were telling me a 40" waist needs a 42" belt. Yes, I know that. But after choosing a 40” waist they sent a 40" belt. Makes no sense to have both sizes listed. They are not interchangeable. Whoever is shipping the belts does not understand! You can select the actual size you want despite the fact that it is greyed out! ... show more

This is a great belt. The leather is smooth and soft. The buckle is a bit bigger than what the picture shows. This is my second Allen Edmonds belt. The first one is a "Bombay" and is not so quality. The seal of leather began to be scratched after several-weeks daily wearing. The size of this basic wide dress wide is also right. My waist is 32 and I bought the 34" size. It fits me very well. Amazing belt that is the perfect compliment to any Allen Edmonds Black leather shoes. Really great leather that has been holding up well, and it's got a great width too it that isn't too thin. This also works really well in casual settings as well. One thing I would mention is the belt seems to go by your "vanity" sizing rather than your dress pant/suit sizing, meaning you shouldn't size up from your true pant size. If you don't know your true waist size, then buy a size up from what you would wear in chinos/jeans ... show more

AE is known for their high quality for their shoes and IMO their belts match that quality. I have the shoes that are the same color so I needed something that was the same color and nothing in the stores were even close. Size: 34" Waist Color: Black Leather
Nice understated black dress belt. Not quite as supple as the AE belts I've had in the past. Both inside and outside of this belt are very much on the dryer side. I don't know exactly how describe it other than dry. The backing is different and more of a gray semi hardened as compared to the previous natural tan of my much older AE belt that has more of a supple and rich moisture tack with a felt like soft tan backing. Don't get me wrong, this is still a very sharp looking belt but something is just off from what I've come to expect from an AE leather product. I have a dozen pairs of AE shoes and an assortment of AE,RL, Coach, Cole Haan/Bragano, and Trafalgar and it just seems like the products were slightly better made even just ten years ago. ... show more

I ordered this belt and two weeks later it arrived - wrong size. This is because the sizing link on their site takes you to shoes only - not belts. If you have a 32 inch waist (me), do not order the "32 inch waist" belt! You need the "34 inch waist" belt. I tried to exchange it and again was taken to the shoe sizing chart (!!!) and when I clicked on 34 inch belt black was told it was out of stock!! Complete waist/waste of my time. I will not buy from Allen Edmonds again. ... show more
