Love reading again
Color: Starfish
I bought this for an adult, the case is so cute and soft I had to have it. Not sure how water resistant it actually is as I don’t want to harm it in my testing. Not my first kindle and won’t be my last but this is definitely one of my favorites. The screen is so clear I forgot to set my font and page color the way I usually do when I first set up my kindles. I just loved it right out of the box and it was so easy to set up and get started reading. It weighs almost nothing which is good for keeping my hands from getting tired when holding it. I haven’t really explored too many menus I just downloaded and imported some books and got going. I’ve had a little bit of trouble turning the pages sometimes but that might be the book itself and not the function of the kindle. Sometimes the imported library books freeze on pages so that’s on the book or something I’m doing wrong. Overall it was a great purchase and well worth the money. I got it for the case and the case is very soft and the colors are popping. The kids section was pretty well done I was wondering how that was set up and it was just a smaller library that you give the kid permission to read and they can just go at it and with the subscription they can read more kid friendly books included. I think you can even control that aspect with your phone or computer. Adult or kid as long as they can read they will be able to use and hopefully enjoy this device. Not going to promise a love of reading but when that’s all they can do on this it’s a good screen for a little reader to have

Very convenient and doesn’t hurt the eyes
Color: Starfish
I bought this for my daughter so she can’t start reading and taking a leap into the world of literature so far it hasn’t been long but I have seen her pick up her kindle more than her iPad. I honestly thing the kindle will make her exceed more in her reading she is very shy and just recently she decided she wanted to join school book club I’m very happy with this product it’s opening doors for her in many ways than one the quality is great long lasting battery so it seems doesn’t bother her eyes when she reads and the size is perfect when we go anywhere like parks or libraries. The screen can be just by brightness and really doesn’t strain her eyes and have a great deal of book selection from the kindle store and and since it’s small to fit in her mini book bag or purse or pouch it’s very convenient to take anywhere. This product to me is better than taking an iPad mini anywhere because the iPad strains the eyes and this is great.

Definitely worth it!
Color: Starfish
My daughter absolutely loves her kindle! She always took mine to read on, now she has her own and I got my kindle back! Plus it’s kid friends, no scary ads and I have control of what books are approved on her kindle, or not. Definitely improved her love for reading, she can bring so many books in less space. Before she had to decide what books to bring. Screen is awesome for in sunlight and night reading. So light and durable. Way lighter than an iPad. Easier to carry and hold. The cover is soft and durable!

Great little device. Holds books. Helps if you're in the kindle sphere already. Great for kids and the case it comes with is awesome.

Yes! Buy this right now!
Color: Starfish
Love! I love everything about this. Not one complaint. The texture of the case is so smooth on the inside and the outside- I could pet it all day! The image on the case is super vibrant, you can literally read this anywhere- no glare in the sun, adjust brightness at night (I love the dark mode!) I didn't notice any difference in speed compared to my og kindle or my scribe- not a dig, it's all good, definitely fast enough for page turning and what not. I got this for my daughter to encourage more reading. She's loves it too, especially now she has her own Kindle like mommy. I'm not crazy about the weight- it's a touch too heavy for my liking but I also have carpal tunnel syndrome so maybe you won't mind at all. I freaking love that this thing is water proof! I'm so glad for that! There's no way I'd give my kids a piece of technology that isn't water proof- it would be easier to just go to the toilet and dump my money in there and flush lol. I also love that it came with SIX whole months of kindle kids unlimited! And tons of free books like Harry Potter! I'm having her read the book and then we watch the movie- so fun! You can also switch from kids mode to adult and you can even add books to your kids library from your account. Ah-mazing. Please disregard reviews that complain about there not being books for teens- these people had the opportunity to see what content is available for KIDS unlimited and they obviously did not. It's not hard to learn about what you're getting before you buy it. Sigh.

Cover not really rugged, surprise subscription, but otherwise typical excellent Paperwhite
Color: Cyber City
I’m an avid reader and always looking for a bargain, so when my old Paperwhite needed to be replaced and I learned that Kindle for Kids was cheaper than the regular Paperwhite and comes with a more rugged cover, I was immediately interested. My local library has a better selection of ebooks the books I want to read than Kindle Unlimited, so buying a Kindle for Kids seemed like a no brainer BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn’t learn about the biggest mistake until I started writing this review and discovered that for the last four months, Amazon’s been billing me $5.99/month for a Kindle for Kids subscription that I didn’t know about and don’t want. It started five months after I bought it, but I didn’t notice it until today. I’m not happy about it. Immediately after bing it, I realized a problem with the more rugged cover. It’s significantly larger and thicker than the regular Kindle. I was able to carry my old Paperwhite in either a front or rear pocket of my Levi jeans. Not being able to just stick the Kindle for Kids in a pocket wasn’t a huge problem, but it was a significant inconvenience. A bigger problem with the cover is developing now. I’ve uploaded a photo. I’ve owned the Kindle for Kids for only nine months, but the cover is breaking down along the spine. I don’t think it will fall apart, but the science fiction illustration on it is peeling off. The cover that once looked so nice is now beginning to look pretty bad. Kindles are still excellent readers, but for someone who reads as much as I do, the cover is just not rugged enough. In the future I’ll stick to the adult Kindle

Amazing 10/10 kindle for kids.
Color: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
My son uses his kindle everyday and loves it. He loves the characters on the front. Screen quality holds up against an 8 year old. Battery life is very good and fairly quick to recharge. Plan on purchasing my other children each one as well. He only has access to kids books on there so I’m not worrying about him getting access to other things.
