    • Best if used w/acid buffer - Great for raising pH and KH

My tap water has very low KH, so I needed something to raise it to keep my tank from major pH fluctuations, such as from my new driftwood. If you are trying to hit a specific pH, you would do well to buy the Seachem acid buffer with this alkaline buffer and mix them with a specific ratio per the instructions on the container. I had just gotten a nice large piece of wood for my tank, and didn't have the time/space to soak it separately, so I put it directly in my tank. To keep the initial wood rot and tannins from lowering my pH significantly, I got this alkaline buffer, in addition to some activated carbon. I added just enough to raise my KH to about 4 degrees and the pH to about 7.4, which is where it was before the tannins started lowering it. pH has now stabilized to around 7.3-7.4. With tank cleaning/water changes, more buffer will eventually need to be added to keep things stable. It seems to be a decent product, and was very cheap, so I'm happy. ... show more

My aquarium pH was getting really low while doing a fish-in cycle. This brought it right up to around 7 within two days. I wasn’t sure whether to use this product or Neutral Regulator, but the Alkaline Buffer product seems to be safer for plants so I chose that. So far my Ph and Kh have been stable in my snail tank. Many users in the hobby recommend adding after every water change to maintain a stable Ph and reduce the likelihood of crashes. I haven’t done this *every time* and my tank still seems happy. It’s also cheaper than crushed coral, but after purchasing I stumbled across some non-chemical solutions to do the same thing. Very powerful powder, be careful with dosage because it could skyrocket the levels of pH and kH. Also study your creature's pH and kH needs so you can target the right amount of this stuff. Good for Sterile Quarantine tank 👍

No negative affects that I have detected from this product such as cloudiness or negative response from my cichlid. Use per directions and if you're unsure of whether you need the full dose, start with half that and give your tank 3-6 hours to mix and churn as PH doesn't adjust immediately in any solution, fishtanks included. I use this in conjunction with their mineral additive to raise water hardness to maintain mineral rich water in my tank alongside a high(er) PH for my cichlid, and despite me not cleaning my tank as often as I should and going prolonged periods between water quality tests and adjustments, alkalinity and mineral content does not deviate much if at all unless I top off my tank with water without adding the appropriate amounts of alkaline buffer and minerals back. ... show more

Muy buen producto excelente pero excelente producto demasiado fuerte yo tengo mi pecera ya llevo casi dos años con ella y lo he estado usando últimamente este producto me ha funcionado de maravilla los recomiendo a un 100% la verdad toca prepararlo por aparte porque si no matas a todos los peces toca prepararlo mínimo en cuatro galones o si es que tienes que cambiar más agua más agua pero agregarlo directamente lo único que arases matar a tus peces solamente agrega como 1 g 2 g g y con esos tienes para bastante ... show more
