I would actually give this 6 stars... Years ago I said I wasn't going to buy another pre-made from Dell and wasn't going to waste money on Alienware. Times have changed. I wanted jump on the AI bandwagon as a hobby. With today's prices, this ACT1250 with RTX 5080 was worth it vs the cost of building my own. Unfortunately, they have the rig locked down tight, so don't expect to tweak it, mostly. That being said, I can understand why. This computer runs flawlessly, and it runs ice-cold, and silent. Oh, and its honestly pretty cool to look at. The design is top-notch. I have had zero issues with this computer! I haven't tried gaming on it yet, but have ran numerous benchmarks and stress tests without a single hitch. In fact, my current setup just toppled the world record score in 3D Mark's free benchmark for similar setups. Even fully OC'ed as far as Dell will let it go, under full AI generation load, or the furry donut of death stess test, it runs at 66° with no artifacts with fans only around 65%. There is only 2 upgrades you can give this computer, both I highly recommend. Upgrade the SSD: toss in a WD_Black 2TB SN850x for OS drive, and a matching 4TB for storage if you need more room. (Gen4 only) Biggest upgrade (and one of only 2 tweaks you can do): buy the Dell certified 64GB (2x32) DDR5 XMP 6400mt/s ram from Dell's website. It can be 2 single 32GB sticks if the kit is sold out. If you are really lucky it will be Kingston Fury w/ heatsink. DO NOT BUY RAM UNLESS IT IS DELL CERTIFIED!!! The 2nd of only 2 tweaks for this computer is MSI Afterburner (currently, April2026, the beta). Dell's RTX5080 has a ton of headroom to OC. Even though Dell has is locked down tight, you can still push it a bit further safely. My 3D mark (and daily) setup: I9 285k @ 6.2GHz Kingston Fury (Dell) 64GB DDR5 XMP 6400mt/s RTX5080 @ 3.2GHz core (curve) +3000 mem WD_Black SN8100 2TB SSD (OS) WD_Black SN850x 4TB SSD (Storage) Yes, I bought the wrong SSD. Worked great for 4 weeks of use, then developed a problem with booting that they said would require a new motherboard. Sent me to their local repair center, then told me to pick it up and send it to their depot for repair. That was two weeks ago. Then tell me the backordered parts they need won't be available for another four weeks. I asked about a replacement, since it was so new and all, and they very nicely told me to be patient. I'm losing my patience. For forty years I've been building my own comps from independently purchased components. This was the first time I bought an entire assembled system. On the other hand, the one I got for my wife is still working fine--for now. So one additional star for that--which could change if service suddenly improves.. EDIT: Showed up a few days later, working fine. Said they had replaced the heat sync and fan. Liquid cooled so I assume it was failing some sort of check at boot up and then shutting down. This system lasted a whopping 2 weeks before the motherboard fried. Dell replaced the motherboard but in doing so they deactivated Windows 11 in a manner that will require me to buy a $139 Windows license on top of what I've already paid for the system. Easy setup and works perfectly. Easy to upgrade RAM and SSD. I like this style of Dell towers as it is easy to access all components. I bought this to replace my DellXPS from 2017 which had an older processor that wasn’t compatible with some of the never CAD features that I needed. *UPDATE* Going strong for over 6 months now. 4/22/2026! So I have had this PC for a little over a month now and have to say its been a blast. Its most likely overkill for gaming but its been more than impressive. in Getting 70+ FPS consistant on streets of tarkov with literally every setting on ultra. The ultra 9 doesnt dissappoint. Dont be swayed by not having the freedom to overclock this rig. You dont need that nonsense. Arrived late but thats alright. Just glad it finally shipped. It came in new condition (as expected) but seeing these reviews just point it out. Fired right up first try.
