    • Insufficient Power Leads to Offline Camera/Hardware Issues
Hardwired my Spotlight Cam Plus using this cable and within a week of installing it my camera kept going offline on me. When it goes offline, reconnecting from the Ring app didn’t fix it. I would unplug the camera, dismount it, and take it inside closer to my router (incase it’s network related) and to check the battery (battery at 100%). After reseating the battery and performing a reset on the spotlight cam plus, it would begin working again. I would then take it back outside, remount it, and plug this usb c cable back in. WITHIN THE SAME DAY the camera would go offline again. After repeating these steps multiple times, the point of failure happens when I plug the usb c into this camera. Some false advertising stating this properly powers the spotlight cam plus when it doesn’t. It should say that “this cable can charge the battery of the camera when it’s removed”. If you plug this cable directly into the camera and try to use it as a dedicated power source it’ll cause the camera to go offline, and/or cause hardware issues due to insufficient power being supplied.
