So far I'm very happy with this chair. It's very comfortable. However if you're under 5.5' your feet will probably not sit well on the ground. I'm 5.5' and my feet just barely sit flat on the floor. This is due to the sprung seat of the chair. This makes the seat of the chair more comfortable but it's stands taller on the post because of it. If you're over 6.1' I don't think the back of the chair would be tall enough to support your head. I unexpectedly found the rear lumbard support to actually be helpful. Initially I had it set low but was getting a backache in my lower back. By setting the lumbard support to the maximum setting this eliminated my lower back problems. I can't say much about the durability of the chair at this point. However, I expect that it being a bonded leather chair at some point this will present an issue. Having said that it does seem to be a very well-built chair. Without excessive wear I would expect it to last over 3 years which is all I would expect out of this price range. The bonded leather is very soft and comfortable. The non adjustable arms of the chair I am also very happy with. For myself they are at just the right height. I find chairs with adjustable arms to be very flimsy and I do not care for them at all. ... show more

I bought this chair to replace my 2 year old Boss Black LeatherPlus Executive Chair. That was a good chair, but after a while it started to squeak every time I moved and the cushion went a bit flat, especially after more than 4-6 hours of solid use each day. That chair just "felt" a little higher quality than this one. A little less play, the "leatherplus" feels a little more rugged than the leather on this chair. As far as the Alera Veon is concerned: Pros: It is WAY more comfortable to sit in than the Boss LeatherPlus chair, especially the bottom cushion and back support. Seems to be pretty sturdy. I'm 6' tall 225lbs and it doesn't seem to have any issues holding my weight. Not that difficult to put together. If you can understand pictures you can do it no problem. The adjustable lumbar is GREAT! Boss LeatherPlus doesn't have that. Cons: Feels a little less "tough" than the Boss LeatherPlus. A little more side to side and front to back play in it over all. The leather feels a little thinner than the "LeatherPlus" material on the Boss chair. Not really sure how much of either is real leather to be honest. The leather squeaks a bit when you sit down or lean back as it rubs against the arms. I'll update this review in a few months as I see how it holds up. UPDATE 10/05/2013: Just under 4 months in with this chair and still loving it. Only complaint is the little covers for the screw holes kept popping out. A tube of super glue fixed that little problem. Will be a pain if I ever need to disassemble the chair. If that is the only problem I ever have with the chair I'll consider myself lucky. (The Boss LeatherPlus that I had prior had this same issue) ... show more

I bought 2 of these. Initially it's a great chair, very comfortable and well padded. Over time and based on daily use the leather starts to crack and then peel so you are left with wear marks and a lot of black pieces on your floor that need to be constantly vacuumed up. My first chair started shedding after 12 months, my 2nd after about 6 months. Bottom line is that the chair does not hold up well to daily usage. ... show more

I moved into a dorm room this year and very quickly got tired of the chairs they included with our desks, so I figured I'd upgrade. After checking out reviews on this and similar products I decided that this would be a pretty good chair at a great price for the product and purchased it. This chair is very comfortable and comes with a lumbar support knob if you so desire to use it. The height adjustment range is fine for me, but I'm only 5'7" so take that as you will. My only complaint with the chair is that the little grey caps that cover the screwholes kept on popping out, so i eventually just took them all out and shoved them in a drawer somewhere. No big deal in my opinion. For the $160 I paid for it this chair is definitely a great buy! ... show more

I brought my chair in April and have enjoyed it ever since. It was easy to assemble and I find it to be very comfortable to sit in and it's great especially for my back. I sometimes sit in front of my computer for 5-6 hours and I am very comfortable. I am 160 lbs, 5'1 and I have no problems with the height adjustment or how well it operates. I love the rich warm brown and how easy moves on the carpet. The seat is well cushion as well as the arms and back. I have no complaints regarding this chair; I am very glad I found it after looking for such a long for a chair that will give me the support I needed for my back. I definite recommend this chair to anyone looking for a comfortable chair with back support. Update: I've had nothing but problems with this chair so I decided to write another review: For sometime now and beyond the returned point, I've not been able to keep the chair to keep the chair going down it's constantly down and I'm constantly pulling the handle to lift it up, this is so frustrating and annoying. The arms of the chair are now peeling off, not leather nor imitation leather. It's not worth the cost...save your money and don't buy this chair!!!! ... show more

My husband surprised me by getting me this chair to replace the squeaky clunker of a chair I had in my classroom, and oh my goodness, what an experience! It's very sharp looking, extremely comfortable (and adjustable in several ways), easy to assemble, and it appears to be durable. I am looking forward to many years grading papers with this chair at my back for support! I also have trouble with my knees, and this chair actually has padding to support knees as well as back!
